The Oakley Crosshair sunglasses take classic aviator style and refine the frame and lenses for sun protection that's right on target. You can wear these shades on the boat, in the car, or to your girlfriend's parents' picnic and impress everyone along the way. Super lightweight C-5 frame material with Unobtanium earsocks provides a comfortable, easy fit. The wrapped, raked frame geometry and curved lenses provides improved peripheral vision. The Crosshair meets ANSI impact requirements and AMSO optical requirements, further proving Oakley's commitment to producing high quality eyewear.
Bottom Line: Sight your target clearly through the Oakley Crosshair.
I fell in love with these the first time I saw them, when I bought a pair I wasn't in the least bit dissappointed. These feel very durable, and are incredibly comfortable, I have a little larger head. On top of the great Oakley quality, they have taken a classic look and added some edge to it.
the guy that bashes this ones doesn't know a thing about them, they are great, sturdy, they look great although they are a bit heavy, the frame is resistant as well
Somehow I see a small scratch has occurred on my Oakley crosshair sunglasses purchased from backcountry. How do i remove it from the lenses. Its been less than a year since I bought it.
Usually there's not much that can be done for scratched lenses (and the Iridium coating can scratch fairly easily). Even though you've had them for less than a year, Oakley states: "Scratched lenses are not covered under Oakleys warranty policy. Replacement lenses can either be purchased through your local Authorized Oakley Dealer, Oakley.com, or by calling toll free (800) 431-1439" http://oakley.com/customer_service/warranty_policy
If it bothers you enough, you can get replacement lenses for about $40 from Oakley. I would consider contacting them to discuss your situation.
I always wanted to get a pair of aviator sunglasses but I never liked the size of the lenses. These sunglasses have a much sleeker cut and fit much better. I have the Ducati edition and the lens block out all view through and mirror for outside viewers. The padding on the nose and sides provide comfort for long days in the sun. When they are on they stay in place with well, so if using during a lot of activities. And for the 80's Top Gun Fan... These "can be my wing man anytime." - Iceman (Val Kilmer)
I have had mine for about 4 years as well and they are still in great condition. They made it through a trip to Europe and a lot of hiking and day tripping. Great pair of sunglasses.
my first pair of crosshairs lasted me four years (bought them in 2005) before they got knocked off my head and stepped on. Despite the thin frame they are incredibly durable.
Hey, Grant. If I'm looking for glasses to last me a while, I go for a more substantial frame. I guess it totally depends on your M.O. Are you hard on stuff? If you're hooked on these glasses, know that Oakleys always come in non-scratching cloth bags and zipper-sided hard cases. If you wrap them up in their protection every time you take them off, they'll last longer for sure. Good luck.----------Keep this in mind too bud. If you buy these from backcountry, they have a lifetime warranty on them. So if they break, you can send them back. So will they last you a long time? Thanks to backcountry's warranty, they'll last forever.
These glasses will leave people thinking hey who's that? I wear mine and I am complemented all the time. If your wearing these bad boys you will be making Tom jealous. These glasses are on the heavier side for Oakley but they are incredibly sturdy. The frame design also allows reasonable peripheral vision. I would definitely recommend these glasses.
The Crosshairs are a unique Oakley update of the classic aviator/shooting glass style. While a bit heavier than one might expect from Oakley, the Crosshairs have a very firm and comfortable fit, and the grey lens in the glasses I purchased is ideal for bright conditions without lots of glarefine for driving and around town. They do not bring out contrasts in low light/shade, nor do they flatten glare off water. I would recommend them for general use.
These glasses are sick. After trying them on at a local store, I had to purchase a pair. They are incredibly sturdy and well made. I have the silver/gray lens and they look amazing. Thanks to Oakley, the innovative company they are put a new spin on the aviator style glasses. These are a little bit smaller than other aviators by Ray-Ban, and with a modern frame design put a great spin on a timeless classic. Anyone looking for a pair of great sunglasses, buy a pair of these, you won't regret it!!!
These sunglasses are great. I am partial to Oakley because I have had no other sunglasses since I was 15, so call me a little biased. They are very comfortable to wear, they do not squeeze my head like other Oakleys in the past. I have had multiple complements on the glasses.
I will never purchase another Oakley product ever again. The buyer needs to be aware that if you do not pay full retail price for a product, Oakley will not stand behind the product and will not cover any warrenty items, even if it is sold by an authorized retailer such as Backcountry.
Backcountry always has great return policy. and will give you your money back if you have any type of problem.
But I would not purchase a product from a manufacture with this type of policy and poor support. It took me 5 calls, non returned to Oakley customer service department before anyone would even talk to me and explain why they would not cover my warranty issue.
Amazing O's. I get complimented all the time on these glasses. When you wear them pople can't help but look because they catch the eye. They are aviator offspring and look different while maintaining that quality top gun look. Perfect for the beach because your face oils and eyes lashes wont touch the lens but you still get great eye coverage. I have the pewter/bi combo and i like how plain they are while still being flashy. If your looking for a sweet pair for anything other than sports these are perfect. Money, Money, Money, Money, Moneeeeyyy
These frames are a piece of s***. The lenses pop out of them all the time. There is too much tension in the frame structure. Think about this before you buy them: how many other wire frame sunglass models out there let you change the lenses out by popping them out? Sounds sketchy, huh? These were a colossal waste of money, and Oakley's customer service is a complete POS. I will never buy Oakley's again. Smiths are the way to go.
