Outdoor Research PL Base Glove - Men's - 2008

Wear the stretchy, moisture-wicking Outdoor Research PL Base Gloves alone or as insulation underneath your winter gloves when you ski, snowboard, snowshoe, mountaineer, or set up base camp. Outdoor Research made these gloves with Thermodynamic fabric, which has a nylon shell for durability and a polypropylene liner to wick perspiration. Because the Base Gloves stretch, your fingers will feel agile as you fiddle with boots, bindings, or tent poles.

Bottom Line: Use the Outdoor Research PL Base Gloves as a base layer or a stand-alone glove for backcountry fun in cold weather.

Thin, Warm, comfortable

I ordered these gloves to pre-flight planes here at flight school and i needed a glove that was warm, durable and had a fair amount of dexterity and these gloves work great so far. i can't say too much about the durable part yes because i've only had the gloves for a week but they have a nice stretchy fit and i think they'll do well. i think one of the other reviews mentioned that they were good for using digital cameras and i agree. i would get a shell or outer glove for sub zero temps or handling any sort of wetness i.e. snow or anything of that nature.

These are thin fairly warm gloves that will stretch with your fingers to help with dexterity.

Great base

I also found these to be very nice base gloves. I used Mountain Hardwear Power Stretch in the past and found them too thick as a base glove. These work much better. Only regret is I ordered my pair too big and now they're on backorder.

I'm looking for a pair of slim but warm gloves. I need them

I'm looking for a pair of slim but warm gloves. I need them to be able to function first and keep me warm second. would this be a good pair of slim gloves? if not, i'm looking for a pair of gloves (not fleece if i can help it)

They look to me almost like a pair of work gloves, kind of like Tech gloves (Mechanix). Like the description says, "Gloves alone or as insulation underneath your winter gloves," so they're probably not going to be warm in really chilly climate, but they should be tougher than a normal fleece glove. I think it all depends on what exactly you're going to use them for.

Great base

These gloves served me very well as a base layer. Durable (not much wear when opening knives, dealing with food packaging, tossing around logs on the fire, setting up tents, etc.), slight weight, and moisture wicking --I found them perfect for the job. I wore these gloves under another Outdoor Research shell / insulator mitten combo and was very pleased with their warming ability. Easily comfortable down to below zero.
I would recommend this product to friends and family.
