Outdoor Research Mithril Stormshell Jacket - Women's - 2007

Outdoor Research taped external seams and used waterproof breathable Ventia fabric to give the Women's Mithril Softshell Jacket solid performance in the mountains. The Mithril Softshell Jacket breathes well enough to keep you cool when you break trail, and the mesh-lined pockets double as vents for even more temperature control. The waterproof shell easily holds off heavy snowfall or driving rain. Outdoor Research added a fleece lining for extra insulation on cold days when you go mountaineering, backcountry skiing, and hiking.

Bottom Line: Outdoor Research brings you versatile backcountry weather protection with the Mithril Softshell Jacket.

OR Mithril Stormshell is an awesome jacket!

I bought this jacket for my wife after having had my own for a couple years. It is the best light-weight jacket I have ever owned, and my wife loves hers, too. It is more waterproof than gore-tex and provides more thermal protection than most of my heavier jackets. I am also very impressed with it's durability having wore it during numerous operations while deployed to Iraq and it still looks new.

Third times a charm.

This is the third softshell I've owned and by far my favorite. This jacket is great for anything. I wear it skiing and I wear it out. It's got a great cut to it, so it looks nice. I love the big hood for when I'm skiing with my helmet and the bigger sleeves are also nice for days that you need to layer.

Awesome jacket, fits well through the shoulders and sleeves, pretty much everywhere. I like the technical yet stylish look. Sometimes the hoods are too big but this one is more reasonable.

Great softshell

I researched many soft shell jackets. I needed a technical layering piece for cold weather mountaineering. This definitely fit the bill. I bought a small but usually I am an extra small. The small is a little big but layers perfectly over thin fleece base layers. The hood will fit over a climbing helmet, which was a must for me. It is lightweight and reasonably priced. I love outdoor research gear.
