Outdoor Research Gripper Glove - Men's - 2004

The Outdoor Research Men's Gripper Glove is perfect for winter activities where you need lightweight insulation and excellent dexterity. Its Suregrip palm provides far better grip than standard fleece gloves, easily holding items that are wet and icy. Gore WindStopper fleece blocks out wind and is water resistant, making Gripper Gloves perfect for cross country skiing.

Bottom Line: The Gripper Glove puts standard fleece gloves to shame.

Pretty good in the wind, and decent dexterity. They are snug to put on, but work well.

Gloves are snug. I have been wearing them for a couple of weeks, and the have kept my hand nice and warm. They have now become my primary gloves for the winter.

Has the grip material improved over older versions? I have a pair from 2000 or so when they still used their thicker pile instead of their now fleece. The grip has never been even "good". I thought by now they would have used some leather for the grip.I like OR gloves, and all of multiple pairs of them. They all have leather or synthetic leather and grip well, except the ironically named "Gripper Glove".

They say they've fixed that issue, but I can't attest to it myself. The Black Diamond Jetstream is a great choice. Lightweight, windproof, and has a leather palm.

Great for cold mornings in camp

By:
December 3, 2008

Great gloves for fumbling around trying to heat up your stove and make some joe. They are a bit tight (intentionally), but they 100% block out the wind and are great for gripping. As mentioned, they are water resistant, but only resistant. If you really need something better than that though, look elsewhere (sealskin, etc.)

Good in Alaska

By:
January 7, 2008

These are my daily use gloves I use while stationed in Alaska. Wear regularly at 30 below. I bought one size larger so I could put poly liners on the inside for when it really gets cold here.

Very Niiiice

By:

I normally wear a size 11 glove, and bought the XLs. Too big, should have checked the sizing chart, can't do much work with these on, but would probably work if I had the correct size. Do keep my hands nice and toasty, even when flying around Afghanistan at minus 7 celcius. Don't get them wet though, they'll soak it right up.

Love them

By:
November 26, 2008

I love these gloves, have had 3 pair of them so far. I wear them for everything from biking, to x-country skiing, to downhill, and around town. I don't get cold very easily so they work great for me. You might need something warmer when it gets really cold. My hand is 8" and I wear the large.

Better than expected

I was a little doubtful about how windproof these would be, but they have been wonderful. My husband wears them on his bike, and motorcycle and loves the comfort and warmth they give.
