Nuun Nuun Tube - 8 Pack

Leave sugary, over-concentrated “sports drinks” in the convenience store, and messy mixes in the cupboard, because a few nuun tablets in your hydration bladder or water bottle will do the job far better. What's nuun? It's our favorite solution to the hydration problem: tablets that transform normal H2O into an optimized blend of electrolytes, without the sugar. No more messy drink mixes, no more plastic bottle waste, and no more pre-planning. Just a 12-tablet tube of nuun in our pack, pocket, or gym bag, and we're always carrying 1.5 gallons of instant sports hydration when we need it. Nuun tastes great (not sicky-sweet or salty, ever) and has only five calories in every 16-ounce serving. The 8-pack contains eight 12-tablet tubes—that's 24 gallons of nuun.

Bottom Line: Pre-race, pre-workout, or post-party, nuun is better hydration without the hassle.

Good Nuun

By:
October 25, 2009

This is definitely a really good way to go in the hydration department. My theory is that we can't get all we need from regular foods/water so we have to take some supplements if we're trying to perform. Nuun is very easy on the stomach and with a descent taste it makes it much easier to remember to keep pounding fluids. I have only tried lemon-lime but friends say that tri-berry is really good as well.

great way to keep hydrated!

By:
May 5, 2008

Nuun is my favorite sports drink. I love how portable the little containers are and they are easy on my stomach. I use them religiously in long endruance races and triathlons and even just during the day when I know I need to drink water but don't feel like drinking plain water. I also love that theya re so low calorie but I get my electrolytes in so no muscle cramping!! I'e only tried lemon lime nad the tri-berry flavors...tri berry is my favorite!

Has anyone used this in a bottle after adding micropur to the

Has anyone used this in a bottle after adding micropur to the water? I go backcountry and have never had enough water to get me to where I'm going. I carry 2 1L soda bottles filled with water all the time. When one is empty, I fill it, drop in a tablet and go on drinking from the other bottle. How does this stuff mix with the micropur?

You shouldn't have any problem using it after you use MicroPur. I would caution using it while the MicroPur is doing it's thing because citric acid has a tendency to make oxidizing chemicals inert. The worry-free method would be to drop in the MicroPur tablet wait the prescribed time and then drop in the Nuun tablet which will only take a few minutes to dissolve. That way you can be assured of safe drinking water. The Nuun will help to clear up any chlorine taste making it much more palatable.

I Love all 3!!

By:
November 28, 2008

I love that there are 3 sizes to choose from, so depending on your choice of bottle or bladder and how far you are going there's a nuun product just for you.

I love this stuff!

By:
November 10, 2008

I noticed that half the people writing reviews said it was carbonated. The truth is, it isn't. It only seems that way when you drink it immediately after it's done dissolving. Once its sat in your bottle it's really flat.
I really love the Tri-Berry. It's sweeter than the other flavors and that makes it a winner. It keeps me drinking more, which means I'm hydrated properly, meaning no cramps.

Orange Ginger not too spicy

By:
February 26, 2009

I was able to taste-test the different flavors at at the registration for a Danskin Triathlon. The Tri-Berry was a little sweeter (compared to the rest), the Lemon-Lime just as you'd expect it, but to my surprise, the Orange Ginger was not too spicy, or "gingery", and had a unique taste that I've not had with any other sports drinks or tablets. A good choice for those looking for a change of pace in flavor but not wanting any unpleasant shocks to their taste buds.

Nuun is perfect for my palate

By:
February 4, 2009

Over the past 10 years, I've tried lots of different options for rehydrating during long distance cycling and hiking efforts. I have never found anything that transports as well, leaves no aftertaste, is not too sweet, does not upset my stomach, etc. This is the perfect solution. I prefer the lemon-lime flavor. For my water bottles, I use 1/2 a tablet (they break in half easily). Kudos to the inventors of Nuun!

Nuun in Hawaii

By:
September 30, 2008

I have tried a lot of sports drinks and nuun has to be the simplest one. You just drop a tablet in the water and move on. In a 26 oz. bottle I put two tablets. It is also not sticky and does not ruin your bottles lids like the others with all that sugar. It also doesn't taste too bad when warm considering the weather here. I like the tri-berry flavor. Basically it is tasty and quick to use.

This stuff is Great

By:
November 21, 2008

I am hooked on this stuff. This is the perfect alternative to sugary sports drinks. It works great and I really like the fact that you can replace sodium and electrolytes easily without adding a lot of calories. Perfect for shorter intense summer workouts where you lose the sodium, but might not have burned a ton of calories. Don't take up much space which is nice for long rides, just toss the tube in your jersey.

Very good for my second bottle

By:
July 18, 2009

I use Nuun in my second bottle when riding and tend to dilute it a bit to avoid getting a upset stomach but it works great. Just don't overdo it.

Great for long days, long trips

By:
August 22, 2008

Perfect thing to alternate with water or replace water on long hikes or on climbs (took mine to climb Kilimanjaro). Light taste and just slightly carbonated, which I found refreshing. Gatorade and those things are too heavy, sweet, and thick for me -- especially for long trips where you're exerting everyday, all day. You'd end up with way too much sugar. And they're the easiest thing to carry and use on the run. Just plop one in your Camelback or Nalgene. Tried Lemon Lime and Citrus. Really loved Lemon Lime.

Great for the backcountry

By:
May 28, 2009

I really like the Orange Ginger favor. It is not too sweet, and you can only slightly taste the ginger. While Nuun is good for sports or everyday use, what I really like it for is backpacking. After several days on the trail, I can get a little tired of plain water. Popping one tablet into my Nalgene or 40 oz Klean Kanteen gives me an almost instant, tasty beverage (with electrolytes and vitamins). It dissolves in 1-2 minutes (it fizzes when it dissolves, but does not carbonate the beverage) and makes re-hydration much more pleasant. At about 50 cents each for the larger tablets, the price is also very reasonable (compared with pre-packaged, sugary sports drinks).

Review Title

By:
August 28, 2009

Great product. I finally got smart and started adding them to my water bottle when working out, instead of saving them for the Camelback. Slow learner. :)My favorite by far is Lemon-lime. It was not available when I last ordered so I got the Kona Cola which I really don't much care for. I guess I now know better what flavors I find refreshing.

Bad first impression I think

By: Backcountry.com Employee
May 7, 2008

I brought a thing of nuun on a backpacking trip and threw a few in a water bottle several times along the trip. For some reason the nuun made the water almost "carbonated" and honestly I didn't like the taste. Maybe I am just a gatorade guy at heart, and while I hear a lot of people saying good things about Nuun, I am just going to stick with Gatorade.

Drink This First

By: Backcountry.com Employee
August 30, 2008

I love drinking nuun because it's not nearly as sick sweet as Gatorade. It's a tad bubbly to be good for the stomach too. It travels so well in it's small canister too!

Nuun Nuun Tube - 8 Pack

By: Backcountry.com Employee
August 28, 2009

I love Nuun! I added a couple to my bladder for a 20 mile peak bagging day and felt great the entire time. I even had enough energy left over to run my way down (leaving behind my non-Nuun using partner). Tri-Berry is my favorite, but they are all good.

High on Nuun

By: Backcountry.com Employee
July 23, 2009

Yeah, I like Gatorade, who doesn't? But sometimes having teeth that feel like they fur on them is less than ideal on a 100+ F day when your ascending up a boulder field with 30 lbs on your back. Nuun's light flavor reminds you you're still drinking water but is flavorful just enough to excite your buds while trail running, backpacking or even just sitting in a cubicle (let's face it, that's most of us). They pulled a 'first one's free' thing on me and I've been hooked since. My favorite flavors are Banana and Kona Kola. Make sure G-ma doesn't mistake them for her denture cleaning tablets.

Electrolytes are good!

By: Backcountry.com Employee
June 30, 2009

I think the benefits of Electrolytes are well known to athletes, but feel this is even a great addition to day-to-day hydration. A Nuun in the morning really starts the day right; hang-over busters for sure.

What?! BananaNuun. Lookout for the NEW BanananaNuun it is too good. I have tried all the flavors and do like them all, however I'd say Tri-Berry is my least favorite. Electrolytes are good!

Nuuntastic

By: Backcountry.com Alumni
June 23, 2009

I have been having the tri berry after my runs lately and it's pretty tasty. It does take a good 1 minute or so to dissolve which I'm not very patient so that's my biggest complaint. Other than that, it tastes good and I feel that it helps me get back into balance after a long run. I've also used it after a sweat session at Bikram class, it rocks for that too.

Taste is fine

By: Backcountry.com Employee
June 9, 2009

I bought these to do a Grand Canyon R2R2R. I tried them out a couple of times in training first, but was still wary of getting sick of the taste during the run. So wary that I took another bottle of clear water in case I needed to wash my mouth out. I carried that bottle of clear water the whole way without drinking it. I never got sick of the Nuun taste.

Oh, and I didn't get dehydrated either.

Totally dig this stuff

By: Backcountry.com Employee
August 5, 2008

I bought some of this for my girlfriend to use in marathon training, and decided to steal a tube for work. It makes a huge difference in a hot warehouse, normally I crave salty foods about 5 hours into an 8 hour shift, but not with these. I don't have to worry about getting hyponaetremic from intaking so much water and sweating it all out. Also, as an EMT and wilderness first responder, I would be 100% comfortable using these in cases of dehydration, they are lightweight, easy to use, and never messy. I can't say enough good things about how easy and awesome these are.
