Norrøna Svalbard Synkron Backpack - 80L - 2009

For epic treks involving big, heavy loads, the Norrona Svalbard Synkron Backpack not only comfortably carries nearly anything you can fit inside (up to 55 pounds anyway), but it does it with sleek Nordic style. Norrona’s Synkron 4 suspension system distributes the pack weight equally among your hips, back, and shoulders, and the tough, near-waterproof shell withstands constant abuse from the unforgiving mountains. The Svalbard also accommodates add-on pockets (sold separately) thanks to its Rail Glider piping system.

  • Backcountry.com is the exclusive US distributor for Norrona products

Bottom Line: A comfortable, weather-resistant pack built for the mountain trails.

Great Pack

By:
September 26, 2009

I got this pack to see if I would like it. Originally wanted to buy a Bora 80 but a friend of mine owns a Bora and he let me try it and I wasn't to impressed with it, I know it's a great bag but with all the hype it gets I was expecting more. So I bought this pack since I heard lots of good things about Norrona. First impression out of the box was its very durable and well built. It carries a load better than the Bora, cause more of the weight is on your hips. I hiked 30 miles in the Jedediah Smith wilderness and the pack works very well. The additional pockets are kind of nice, at first I wasn't to happy about buying additional pockets but living in bear country it was nice to have a pocket I could put my food into and then completely remove from my pack and place in a bear bag and not have to worry about a bear going through my bag at night. So I like this pack and would recommend it to a friend.
