Norrøna Lofoten Gore-Tex Pro Shell Jacket - Women's
The Norrona Women's Lofoton Gore-Tex Pro Shell is guaranteed to keep you dry without extra bulk. The clean, simple style proves that simple is better.
Designed with a minimalist Scandinavian look, the Lofoten shell is ultra-lightweight to let you control your temperature through layering. When you're out exploring the islands Lofoton of Norway, the 3-layer Gore-Tex fabric, taped seams, and waterproof zippers block out precipitation of all forms. If the wind picks up, the Lofoten's extra-tall collar and one-piece hood provide protection from the elements.
PLEASE NOTE: This garment is fitted and runs true to size

Bottom Line: Explore the glaciers and be protected from harsh Artic Circle weather weathering the Norrona Women's Lofoton Gore-Tex Pro Shell Jacket.
I love this jacket like no other ski shell. Excellent coverage at the wrists, face, hood, backside.... BUT... The right hand pocket blew through on the inside. Major annoyance considering the price and the quality of the jacket on the whole. (Love the little zipper garages, so cute!)
I can't tell from the photo, but does this jacket have a zip that you can un-zip from the bottom of the jacket?? I find it a really useful function and have decided against getting an Arc'tyrex jacket-despite their great colours, because they don't have it!!
In an effort to get my wife something other than the default Arcteryx or TNF shells, I ordered this for a Christmas present. It is over a month away from "field testing", but out of the box it is a stunner. Great color, (Blue Atoll)nice details. I suspect that wearing this will garner her the comments that people wearing Arcteryx in 2000 heard. Aesthetics are awesome - will report on actual use after Christmass
how long is the jacket? I need it for snowboarding and also for hiking in rainy tropical weather. Is is breathable enough to wear it in warmer wet climate?
This jacket is ideal for snowboarding and also for extreme conditions-like those in rainy tropical weather. It's definitely breathable enough to wear in warm wet climates. As for the length- I can't get the exact measurements anywhere online but it looks like it hits around the hip area. Cheers!
this is not only the most beautiful outer shell i've ever had, but also the most functional one. all those little details that work and yet the jacket's design stays pure. the colours are amazing and will help people recognize me in the backcountry as well as help me look better on photos :) the fit is flattering, too. great jacket, great price.
My experience on this site and others is that less-demand colors of various products get marked down to move the inventory. If blue sales are robust, the high price sticks. That Sulphur Springs is VERY BRIGHT but I still like it. Cheers!
The jacket fits more flattering than arc'teryx plus the colors are more interesting. The sleeves are kind of weird though. They have a little extra fabric that lays over the back of the hand. I haven't quite figured out what's it for - maybe water run-off? The snow skirt fits wells and zips out too. There is an ipod pocket with flaps to secure the headphone cord. The sulphur springs is blindingly lime/green, but the blue atoll with maroon zippers is beautiful. Nice, superlight, attractive jacket overall.
I am tall (5'10") but pretty thin. I am always annoyed with jackets with short sleeves. I am worried that if I get the XL I will look lost... there are no other sized left but small. I heard they fit small too, anyone know if the XL is huge or just a bit bigger?
With European jackets, usually order a size up. My Norrona is an XL and I generally wear a medium across the board in Arc'T, TNF, MH, Burton, etc. From experience with Norrona, the medium will fit but a L will give you the ample arm-length you want. Also, the cut is close fitting with room for ample layering. I hope this helps.
A little intimidating right out the box, this jacket earned my love at windy Snowmass today!! The size large was plenty roomy for me at 5'9" 150 lbs. Note: you need "inside" gloves that go inside the sleeve. The arms are long with this gauntlet-like cut. Tighten up the wrist velcro and you have totally unshifting freedom of movement. While my friends were wind-beaten on the chairlift, I was impervious in Gore-tex Pro. The colors are the most eye-catching on the whole mountain. I look like an alien with the hood up in the sulfur color, but in fact I could ski comfortably with that hood up--something I do not usually do when only using the hood on the chairs. The zipper garages are the cutest. I'm a big girl with my own attached goggle wipe. This jacket is so MONEY.
I loved my jacket. I wore it a few times, and even had lots of pictures taken, as we opened a new lift-access bowl here in Telluride, and I helped with the ribbon cutting ceremony. The jacket looks even better than I imagined in the pictures! Anyway, my jacket got stolen out of my luggage the week after Christmas. I would totally buy this jacket again. It's super. I got lots of compliments, it was comfortable, and the quality superb. I really miss it...
I tend to be a medium, but the large worked perfect for me, as I wanted to be able to wear layers underneath.
