Norrøna /29 Gore-Tex Performance Shell Insulated Parka

Soul-crushing winter conditions aren’t the sole domain of alpine mountain ranges, which is why Norrona created the /29 Gore-Tex Performance Shell Insulated Parka. Inexpensive? No. Made with a combination of high performance materials and jaw-dropping style that are guaranteed to protect you in the worst weather imaginable? Damn straight. Whether you’re hoofing it to the train or shredding through the storm, the waterproof breathable Gore-Tex Performance Shell fabric shields handles driving sleet and oppressive wind, and fluffy PrimaLoft insulation serves up vital core warmth. No matter where on Earth you are, the /29 Parka is bound to keep you warm and dry.

  • Backcountry.com is the exclusive US distributor for Norrona products

Bottom Line: Uncompromising alpine performance with relentless urban style.

last year i bought a canada goose expedition parka and whilst it is great it's just too warm and too restrictive. has anyone got experience of this coat as well. is it easier to move around in, does it swallow you whole like the canada goose and if its ok for wearing in temperatures just above freezing?

The Arc'teryx Fission SV would be another option, and if you don't need full on wet weather protection , I have the Arc'teryx Kappa SV (it will shed light rain and snow is no problem). It uses soft face fabric, and isn't restrictive, but still warm and windproof, plus it breathes better than a Gore Proshell, so better comfort range when it's not bitter cold.
