Nordica Speedmachine 12 Ski Boot - Men's

The Nordica Speedmachine 12 Ski Boot for men is an aggressive all-mountain boot with a 120-110 flex. This flex gives you control without super-stiff, shin-slamming side effects. Adapt to icey or soft conditions using the Speedmachine 12's flex adjuster. This boot arrives complete with the thermo-moldable PFP Performance Fit liner and footbed, which provide excellent anatomical support for rippers who wear their boots for hours every day. The Speedmachine ensures a finely tuned ride from dawn patrol to last chair. The 100mm-wide forefoot provides a snug fit, and canting adjustments let you further customize the Speedmachine 12 to your all-out skiing style.

Bottom Line: Put the pedal to the metal without getting slammed in the Speedmachine 12.

Perfect All Mountain Boot

By:
December 3, 2008

Ive been riding these for about 3 years now and used them about 40 days per season and they are still kicking strong! They are ready for a 4th season...no signs of slowing down. Great for all mountain... super sturdy, great performance, and pretty darn comfortable. The initial break in period caused some pain, but after that first week they were fine. That is the case with any boot. I like how you can modify the boot to your skiing style and the lining molds to your foot. Buckles are super sturdy and I ski pretty hard and beat the crap out of these things... still going strong for 3+ seasons. Very durable and excellent performance in all mountain conditions. They are a bit heavy in the back country, but if you are just taking a hike/skin or two once a week they are fine for that. If you are venturing out in the BC more than 50% of your time I would look into an AT boot. They are designed more for in bounds all mountain skiing. You wont be dissapointed... Have fun.

They are advertising that the boot is stiff, but without the shin pain that usually accompanies a stiff boot. From my experience, any stiff boot (regardless of what they advertise) will give you shin pain unless you find a way to wear them with absolutely ZERO dead space in between your shin and the inside liner of the boot. This is extremely hard to do, but I have had the most success reducing the space between my shins and the liners with a wrap around style liner, such as the liners FULL TILT BOOTS use. Don't believe crazy claims like no shin bang problems with a stiff boot. If you can find a way to try them on and see for your self, that would be your best bet.

Yo! Check the sides of the heel. There should be a number in millimeters (mm). That should help figure out the next size up. A better idea (if you have the time) is to take these pups to a good ski shop and have a boot fitter take a look. You may need just a small adjustment to these boots instead of a whole new size. Ski boots rarely fit comfortably straight out of the box and 'too small' may be 'spot on' once they are broken in properly. For myself, I have a size 8.5 or 9.0 street shoe and go down two sizes or so in ski boots. Sucks to watch TV in 'em, but perfect for arcing big skis thru deep snow! Hope this helps some!---Imparting my wisdom--- You don't need a small boot. Plain and simple. The best boot for you, is the most comfortable boot for you too. No one likes skiing uncomfortably. My boots are comfortable enough to watch TV in, Check them out, FULL TILT BOOTS... www.fulltiltboots.com
