Nixon included a tide subdial in the 51-30 Watch, so you'll know when to paddle out at your favorite surf spot. With super oversized stainless steel case, this watch will survive the gnarliest wipeout you'll ever take, because unlike you, it'll keep ticking up to 300m underwater. A sleek, brushed finish on this Nixon watch's stainless steel band gives it go-anywhere versatility. The 51-30's double locking clasp ensures this premium timepiece won't leave your wrist involuntarily. *Available for U.S. Shipment only.
Bottom Line: 300 meters down and the Nixon 51-30 Watch is still ticking.
I need to know when this thing is going to be in steep and cheap or whiskey militia....this thing is expensive but I have to get this as a gift. I understand it was on whiskey militia recently. Would you be able to sell it to me for that price? Thanks,
this watch is beautiful but in the way a wall clock is- largest watch going, around 48mm as a comparrison most Tags, omegs etc are 40-42mm sets your head apart man so if you can sport it you will love it as its different, substantial and takes a pounding, wear it to board, wear it to dinner, wear it to work so other know you arent inline with the corporate policies of office spaced drones- a fair price for what you get and how it looks, performs and holds up- or you could get saysome ties and stock in microsoft jimmy
I have owned my 51-30 for about 1year 1/2 and this thing is bullett proof. Trust me you will get many many comments of the size of this watch and everyone wants to know where they can get one. Highly recommend if you are thinking about purchasing one all is I can say buy it.
after wearing the watch for a few months i thought id include an update:
the black band is susceptible to scratching, exposing the silver coloring underneath -- i have several mini scratches from everyday use. also, ive noticed that many of the pins in the band and parts of the clasp (where it meets the band that move from natural use) are exposing the silver from the paint chipping off. im guessing nixon would cover this under warrantee but seems kind of cheap from a somewhat pricey watch. the main face unit is still flawless though -- they should have used a better spray paint for these things...
Got mine.. its to small to fit around my wrist and hand.. i need to go have an extension placed in.. duno really where to go.. duno if i can do it.. duno if that little extension it comes with is enough..
i got this watch at a local shop in town. i went in wanting the all black chrono w/ the PU band but opted for the the tide version w/ steel band -- i figured i was already spending a bunch, get the better band. the all black chrono isnt really 'all black', the digits and dials are white. my first attempt scored me a super squeeky watch -- when i would shake my wrist to adjust, the band would squeek a high pitch metal sound (also i found a spot on the watch where the black coating didnt hit and could clearly see the silver underneath the paint). i called nixon and they said this shouldnt happen and go exchange it for a good one. when i went back to the shop, the other watch they had available had the same problem. so i went to another location a few miles away and went for the exchange. i found a non-squeeker but after getting home noticed there was a greesy fog underneath the glass and the rotating bezel didnt line up correctly -- the '0' didnt meet the 'down arrow' exactly but in the middle of the arrow and the first minute indicator. so i went to another location to swap it out again. the 2 models they had available at this shop both had squeeking but was minimal and i figured all these watches are just cheaply made -- i assume they have poor quality control at nixon. besides all that BS, the watch sure looks cool and is not as heavy as i thought, even w/ the steel band. i do have to be careful when wearing it, i seem to smack it against everything -- i smacked it against my car and was relieved when it chipped the paint on my car and not my watch! if you do get one of these, examine it carefully, it should be perfect for 450.00+ dollars...
It looks good and has held up great. You'll be surprised at how big this watch really is. The Swiss made movement is accurate, and the quality is unprecedented. Fantastic watch!
Does anyone know if the gunmetal band highlights any scratches? Am thinking stainless would be better for long term, but the gunmetal does look good...
Not little ones, but if you get a big scrap on it you will definitely be noticing it. That said, doesn't scratch too easy, especially if you wear it too the beach and just around.
this watch is the sickest one i got yet!!!!!!!! i love it. It was worth the hunt to find it. i only wish nixon keeps making such kick ass watches...... if u dond got one u need to go out and get one u might never wanna wear another watch!!!!!!
This isn't a kinetically powered watch...you shouldn't have to wear it for it to keep time properly, or wind it. If it is stopping and starting check to make sure that the adjustment dials are screwed down all the way, if you're still having problems hit up our customer service department and they'll get you a new one, pronto.
souds an auto mechanical watch...these are powered by your motion, like when you walk...they keep time for as long as you wear it and for a considerable amount of time afterwards, but if you go for long periods of time withought wearing it then you have to reset the time
It is big, heavy and sexy!! I absolutely love it. I wear it every day for work, school, etc... I'm 6'5", 240 pounds. People keep saying to me that the watch is huge but it definitely fits me. I'm really impressed by construction quality. The hugged , attractive look will keep you looking in fashion!
does this watch go on your left or right wrist? the adjustment dials are on the left side of the watch. does it matter, I like the left wrist, but that seems backwards on the 51 30
This watch can go on your left or right hand just fine, it doesn't matter which hand you choose to wear it on.the watch is designed for left hand wear, the crown is in towards your body to help minimize the possibility of it being unscrewed in the water (it is a dive watch after all) and having water go inside.
I just don't get this ! If you need a battery you don't need to wind it ? If it's an automatic timepiece it shouldn't have a battery. eg I have a Rolex Submariner and an IWC Pilots watch both of which are automatic and DO NOT have batteries. Perhaps someone can enlighten me.
Of course this watch needs a battery...But the good news is it COMES WITH IT.Though Nixon does suggest that you replace this battery after 2 years of use, this watch is good to go straight out of the box.
