Nikwax Waterproofing Paste Wax - 2007

Nikwax Paste Wax is the ultimate in leather waterproofing. Heavy-duty leather boots protect your feet from rocks, ankle twisting falls, and most of the elements Mother Nature can conjure. Return the favor by saving them—and your feet—from the water you're sure to encounter on the trail with Nikwax Paste Wax. 4.1 fl. oz. (124 ml)

Bottom Line: Your boots would do the same for you!

Best Stuff Out There

If you're going to be anything leather in wet environments, then you need to get this. It's very easy to use. It doesn't smell the best going on, and you so need to be careful to not put it on too thickly, or you'll end up with a visible, waxy white coating. A little goes a long way; this tube will last you a while. I used my oven instead of a hair dryer, worked perfectly. Didn't have any troubles through the entire ski season last year, and I didn't exactly baby the gloves.

Awesome

Recently I purchased two pairs of snowboard gloves with leather palms. These gloves came with small packs of Nikwax leather waterproofer, which works extremely well. Just follow the directions, touch up the application with a hairdryer and 12 hours later you're ready to go. This stuff sheds water after several rough days in snow, from very cold (dry & rough) to wet slushy stuff. As far as I'm concerned it is a must-have for leather hand and footwear. Not to sound too corny, but I'm buying some more today.

My sister put this on the bottom of her boots and it was not

My sister put this on the bottom of her boots and it was not dry and walked on my slate floor. Any suggestions on what to us to get it off?

Why the hell did she put it on the bottom of her boots? That's not what it's for. I would recommend scrubbing with something powerful, like Soft Scrub.

Leather on snow?

By:

If you have gloves (or other stuff) made of leather or patches of leather than this item is a must. Since you need to use a very thin layer a tube of Nikwax will be virtually enough for a lifetime. It revives leather even burnt badly with snow.

Best Leather Waterproofing

By:

A must-have for anyone who uses leather items outdoors. I use it on my Asolo TPS 520s, and it saved my butt when I hiked the Long Trail in VT (wet and steamy). It is also priceless for all leather gloves.

A tip for application: spread it on with your fingers, forget about the mess factor, and make sure to get into the seams. If you're working on gloves, turn on your oven and bake the gloves @ 200F for 1 min per side. Let em dry overnight and repeat. Guess what? You've just turned a pair of insulated work gloves @ $15/pr into a $150 waterproof pr of Hestra ski gloves sans brand name. Nicely done sir.
