Never Summer SL-R Snowboard

Built in the rockies, the never Summer SL-R Snowboard gives versatile rippers the ability to shred any terrain from summit to street. With R.C. rocker-camber shaping, the SL-R is fun, versatile, and extremely responsive. Never Summer built this quiver killer for the rider who focuses on where the best riding is on any given day. Whether it's a park session, or a hunt for powder, the Never Summer SL-R is built with the renaissance ripper in mind.

  • R.C. Technology rocker/camber shape delivers the floaty, loose, freestyle benefits of rocker with the snap, power and control of camber
  • Vario Power Grip’s variable sidecut increases grip and edge hold so even at high speeds you can initiate turns easily and maintain control
  • RDS 3 Dampening System reduces chatter for a smoother ride
  • Custom Flightcore provides a lightweight, snappy, and smooth ride
  • STS Pretensioned Fiberglass reinforces BI-LITE Fiberglass and the Carbon VXR Laminate Technology for incredible strength, pop, edge hold, and durability
  • P-tex sidewalls, P-tex tip-and-tail protection, and full-wrap metal edges sustain the abuse of freestyle riding so you won't have to take advantage of the three-year warranty

Bottom Line: Versatile, fun, and responsive, the Never Summer SL-R is a bonafide quiver killer.

I'm trying to decide between the NS SL-R, the NS Evo and one of the K2 Free Style Boards (either the Dream or Believer). I'm an intermediate boarding that is starting to get down black and bowls but I have a Burton Custom 08/09 for carving. I want a freestyle board that can do park and carve as well as I start to learn how to start doing more trick riding. Any suggestions? Also...what size should I get (I'm 5'9" and 160lbs) and any suggestions for bindings?

havent ridden this years slr which i heard is stiffer from last years. But if you want an all mountain board to play around with hit every bump along the trail and still have the stability to bomb down the mountain or hop on the terrain park and hit some big jumps you'll be good with the slr. If you feel like doing tricks and hitting the rails and boxes your better off with the evo-r. If I recall the evo wasnt as stable as the slr bombing down the hill. Slr is all around a good board for doing everything, minus rails.. not the greatest. If you just want to do runs and hit a bunch of the jumps the sl-r will do you well. Id suggest the 155 and Im a fan of the ride bindings so something like the rx or spi where its not super stiff but still responsive when your bombing a run.

I rock 09 burton Ions size 12 and they claim that the footprint is that of a size 11. What would work, better the SL-R or the Legacy-R?
