Necky Manitou 14 Select Kayak - 2008

When the wind picks up and you feel like your Necky Manitou 14 Select Kayak is making more progress sideways than forward, put the retractable skeg down and steer a straight course along the shore. With your gear packed in the bow and stern hatches, you're ready for an all-day touring adventure. The skeg pulls up easily with a kink-free wire. The Manitou 14 Select Kayak's extended keel helps with smooth tracking, and a high-volume bow decreases the amount of water that splashes into the cockpit. Thigh braces and a seat with an adjustable back and bottom keep you comfortable as you paddle along, and foot pedals adjust so you can brace against them for strong, effective strokes.

Bottom Line: A retractable skeg, extended keel, and two deck hatches in Necky's Manitou 14 Select Kayak make for a smooth day of touring.
