Native Watercraft Marvel 12 Recreational Kayak

Slide the adjustable seat back on the Native Watercraft Marvel 12 Recreational Kayak to make room for your pup, hop in, adjust the foot braces, and set out on a water adventure that doesn’t leave your pooch behind. If your dog isn’t the boat type, just pack the Marvel 12 with fishing gear or your photography equipment. Thigh pads on the sides of the cockpit prevent the gunnel from digging into your legs, and the First Class seat actually removes for easy boat-loading and doubles as a bench seat at local games.

Bottom Line: Bring Spot with you.

i'm looking at getting a kayak i want one that would be good for exploring slot canyons, touring, and fishing. kind of a one size fits all...here's the rub i also want to be able to take this same yak fishing on rivers with class 2-3 rapids i'm looking at the native ultimate and the native marvel any suggestions or advice?

I have a Marvel 12 and I love it. I do a lot of river floating and also open lakes. It is super comfortable because of the patented seat. Friends have other mgf kayaks and they aren't nearly as comfortable as mine.

I do some fast water stuff---but pretty minor. It seems to handle well in faster water--but it is better on the slow stuff and open lakes.

A friend has the 10 ft and it seems to be more maneuverable than my 12ft. on the rivers. Mine seems to be more comfortable for open water paddling. Both have the great seat---the best part.

The cockpit is nice and open--very comfortable as well. None of us fish out of our boats, but I'm sure the Marvel would be great for this (I just saw a new model at the outfitter store that was designed specifically for fishing).

I would suggest the 10ft marvel is you plan to do a lot of river floating and need the maneuverability factor.

Hope this helps.

Watercraft Marvel

I bought two Native Watercraft Marvel 10s from backcountry - one for me and one for my girlfriend. We love them! Very roomy and stable with lots of room for storage. The large open cockpit is easy to get in and out of and very comfortable for crusing around. The best feature is the seat - it's amazingly comfortable - just like they say - the best Kayak seat out there. Backcountry.com was great to deal with. I also have a Native Manta Ray 12 that I use for fishing. I would highly recommend Native Watercraft and Backcountry to anyone looking for a kayak.

There is a rod along the side of the foot rail. You just reach down and either pull or push the rod until you get the foot rest in the right place. There are stops about every half inch and they snap into place.
