Nine out of ten villains prefer the Native Eyewear Silencer Polarized Sunglasses to regular bad guy glasses. Rhyno-Tuff Air Frames provide ultra structural integrity at a super light weight, because you can't be worrying about busting your shades while you're out plotting evil plans of takeover and destruction. Multiple Snap-Back interchangeable lenses let you quickly swap out your lenses to suit the occasion (dark lenses are for doing really rotten stuff, lighter lenses are for morally questionable activities). The Silencers don't give you X-ray vision, but the polarization does eliminate nasty glare.
Bottom Line: Achieve infamy through evil, and look good doing it.
nice looking glasses. i got these as warranty glasses to repair my damaged pair of native tare sunglasses. these glasses fit a small to medium profile well. the only gripe I have with these is when I run they bounce on my face. my old glasses didn't have this problem. I don't know if I'd pay full price for them, but they are a nice pair of glasses if you can get a good deal.
on a side note - if you have to have warranty work done on your native glasses, don't send in anything but what needs repairing because you won't get a replacement. i sent in my old glasses, lenses, and case and only got a replacement pair of glasses w/no new case or lenses :-(
the fit wasn't perfect for me, but these were nice glasses. apparently, the folks who stole my car liked them too, because when my car was recovered, these specs weren't. no worries, sunglasses are easily replaced. I had some marvelous adventures with these, and look forward to new adventures with my new style of glasses.
Im not exactly sure what you're asking but these glasses fit a small to medium frame pretty well. It would be hard for these glasses to appear large on anyone's head.
Native sets the bar for outdoor sunglasses with their products and lifetime warranty's. I have the asphalt/brown pair and couldnt be happier. These things are great durable and you get the lifetime warranty. would reccomend gettin some croakies though cause you dont wanna lose these.
On my second pair, sent first in for warranty replacement after they shattered, the lenses fit kind of loose in the sockets. I kept wondering if they would pop out. The little rubber ear pieces slide off after only a few uses and you will undoubtebly loose one. Then you have this thin uncomfortable piece of plastic on your ear. This is a real pain if you wear them with a cap or beanie.
And don't buy these for the warranty. The S&H fee increased to like $35 and you need all the original documentation/packaging. As a plus, they look cool and have good optics.
funny you mention the warranty..i am dealing with these jackasses right now. i sent in a pair of tares b/c the polarization flaked off and they sent me the wrong pair of replacements. It has been kind of a nightmare to get them to send me my actual replacements, and I have been without my natives for over a month now...good thing i have back-ups
I'm on my third pair! I lost the first pair, broke the 2nd & got this 3rd pair thanks to the easy warranty! The user friendly lense interchange hasn't led to a pop-out problem if they are dropped; the lenses stay in place unless I take them out.
The only issue I have had (& I had it on all 3 pairs) is that the rubber ear pieces will come unglued and come off. This is fine with me though, actually makes them lighter and they still stick on my head with no problem when skiing, hiking or mtn. biking. I will only ever use these glasses!
These things are one of the best pairs of sunglasses I've ever worn--they have venting to prevent fogging, lifetime warranty, great anti-scratch coating on the lenses and they're SUPER comfortable. And IF the lenses are properly inserted into the frame you won't have a problem with them popping out at all. A+!
True love I tell you, these glasses are great, the get up so close to my face that I forget that they are there sometimes, and surprisingly, I they hardly ever fog up. It's great how the lenses can change with my mood, and the light conditions. Very durable. The only time I had them fall off was when I dove off a sailboat while still wearing them, if only they would float also, then they would be perfect.
I got a killer deal on these glasses a while back on steep & cheap and have lived happily ever after. I know fit is all relative to face shape, but for what it is worth, these fit perfectly. They are super light weight and don't slide around at all. The best part about them is, unlike other glasses I have, Native Silencers have a little bridge at the top of the glasses that keep sweat from pouring off my head onto the lenses. Perfect. Loved them so much, I even hunted down a second pair.
I bought these for sailing/skiing and couldn't be happier. The polarized lens does its job and the comfort is remarkable. I usually have a hard time finding glasses that fit my narrow face but these do perfectly. The interchangeable lens work well but do tend to pop out if you happen to drop them. Overall, excellent sunglasses.
I actually have two pairs of these, one for work and one for casual wear. These things are great; they grip your face well with the nose and arm pads, which keeps them from falling off in almost any situation. The interchangeable lenses are simple to use, and unlike others, neither pair of mine has an issue with the lenses popping out when they're dropped. Not to mention if something happens to them, they have a lifetime guarantee!
I *love* these shades. I use them for everyday wear, cycling, sailing, motorbiking, etc, and was really heartbroken when I lost them. I wore an old pair of heavy, scratched up, uncomfortable sunglasses until giving in and buying another pair of these at full price. The lenses are easy to change, don't scratch easily, the frames are light, fit my smallish face and look good. Plus the polarization really cuts glare. A+!
my silercers have been great! i really like how their shape fits my face, without letting light in around the edges, while still setting far enough away from my eyes that my really long eyelashes don't hit the lenses when i blink. they are also very light weight. i have the moss frames with the reflective lenses, and I have 2 small complaints. first of all i scratched them the first day i had them and the scratches are more noticable with the reflexive lenses, and the second is that they came with 2 sets of lenses instead of 3.
After losing my last pair of Silencers, I did not hesitate to buy another pair.I'm an avid Skier and Mt. Biker and have used many different styles and brands of eye wear and these by far are the best I've used. The lenses are easy to change and stay in place and the quality is top notch. The rubber grips on the nose and ears keep the glasses tight to your face even when you are sweating, the venting also keeps the lens from fogging. My only complaint is that when you are using the polarized lens set, LED readouts such as a Heart Rate Monitors or a Bike Computers are distorted and hard to read, a minor annoyance however. Also, the Native customer service is polite and responds quickly to any problem you may encounter. I lost one of the rubber ear pieces and a replacement was mailed to me free of charge within two days.
Positives: 1) Amazing fit, most comfortable and best fitting glasses I've ever worn. 2) Really good optical clarity. Great lenses. 3) Good prices, not a ripoff like Oakleys or Revos. Negatives: Minor negative, but these lenses seem to really attract dust, and due to the design, its a bit more time consuming to clean these than other sunglasses.
Love the glasses especial the lifetime warranty. They also hold tightly to my face so that they can say tight on my face during activities. These particular lenses also have a nice tint for bright sunlight.
The best feature is the interchangeable lenses. Typically, I wouldn't use the lightest lenses except in low-light conditions or where visual acuity is required. Aside from the lenses the rubberized frame seems like a step above regular plastic frames. Nice shades overall.
From rock climbing to skiing, these shades have it all. I agree fully on all the other positive comments here. One additional note...I disagree with the specs listed above that the frame fits medium to large. I have a smaller face with a very "V'ed" shape (meaning flat faced glasses don't work very well). These are by far the best fitting shades I have found. I also have several other friends that need a smaller frame they agree these fit best. So if you're looking for a small to medium frame, don't let the listed specs mislead you....these will suit you fine!
I didn't buy my natives from backcountry but I wanted to write about them. I have had mine for 4-5 years now and still no scratches. They cut glare so much, you can look at the clouds and the sky looks more defined. Or I wear them riding enduro motorcycle, and what would usualy be a crazy glare off of a car in front of you, you can't even see the glare, it just simpley isnt there. Also, I always take bugs and branches to the face and they splatter on the lenses, but they clean right up. I wear them kayaking, biking, working construction, skiing, even swimming. I have a weird shaped head too, so most sunglasses look really big on my head. These are very tight and fit to my head (silencer). Other models fit a little larger. I probably sound like I work for Native, but these mofos improve your life. If I could have them surgicaly attached to my head, I would. Now thats love baby.
The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because the rubber ear pieces do come loose. This is my second pair, I took the first pair back to rei because of a loose ear piece. My new ones went about 6 months until one became loosened. You could probably super glue it back, I actually might try that. That's my only complaint, the vision is awesome. The fit on my face is awesome. They don't fall off regardless of activity.
I absolutely love them and so do numerous friends who have tried them on. I broke them in on a 6 mile steep and rough trail run and found myself forgetting numerous time that they were even on. Great product and I will be sticking with Native for sports glasses for the forseeable future.
First of all, in a world of so many gloss black shades, I must say that I LOVE the matte finish of the Asphalt/Brown. Secondly, the lenses are so easy to change out that you may actually find yourself using the other lenses! This practicality is a definite plus, although the drawback is that the lenses will actually pop out if you drop them. In all fairness, they will not be dropping off of your face, thanks to an extra-grippy nosepiece and arms. While you may not think that they carry the cachet of other premium brands, they have replaced Oakley and Smith in my collection thanks to their superb comfort, fit and function.
My first pair is still with me and still looks practically brand new even after 50 plus trail miles. They are the most scratch resistant lenses I have ever used. They totally smoke my Oakley's in comfort and functionality. The anti-fog rules.
There really is not anything bad to say about these glasses except for maybe they would not look good on somebody with an enormous head.
I purchased these glasses because I had heard good things about them, they were a good deal, and I had just had a terrible customer service experience with another company. I was not disappointed at all. The warranty is wonderful, and the polarized lenses really make a difference. For the money, I think these glasses are the best deal for the combination of features and warranty. They fit well too- I am a medium sized male and they are comfortable.
