Nalgene Tritan On-The-Go BPA-Free Bottle - 24oz - 2008

The Nalgene Tritan On-The-Go BPA-Free Bottle fits inside most bike cages, car cup and gym machine cup holders, and sports a flip top that makes drinking easy. Because of the easy-access lid, however, the 24oz On-The-Go Bottle isn't leak-proof, meaning if you stick it sideways in a hiking backpack, you might soon feel cool water trickling down your back and legs. Eastman Tritan's copolyester material is BPA-free and won't add that plasticy taste to your beverage.

Bottom Line: For bike cages and gym cup holders.

Love it!

24 oz is just the right size and I love the lid. It is easy to flip open and the hole is perfectly sized for drinking (consistent with bottled water). Contrary to the feedback titled "Lots of problems with the lid," I have not had any issues. In fact, the lid works consistently with the product description which details that it is not "leak proof." I use it when I take my son hiking. It fits perfectly in his Iron Man stroller cup holder and also fits nicely in my car. As an added bonus, the water tastes like water, not plasticky. I ordered 4 more to add to the 2 I already have!

i like this bottle, but, as the description says, it is not leak-proof. it's not supposed to be. so it's great for everyday stuff or biking, but not for packing or hiking unless it's in an outside pocket. it's a good size. i like it.

Perfect end to buying bottled water!

By:
July 21, 2008

I looked at lot of water bottles before deciding on this one. I wanted a water bottle to take with me in every day living (in the car, to the gym, to work, etc.), so that I could stop buying bottled water. I love the bottle. It seems the perfect size as it holds plenty of water, while still fitting in my somewhat undersized cup holder in the car. Also, I haven't had any troubles with it spilling. In fact, I find that most of the time (when there's little chance for spillage) I just flip the cap over the top of the opening, without snapping it shut -- for ease of use. The bottle opening is large enough for ice, and the spout is the perfect size from which to drink. (I didn't want a bottle with an internal straw or one that you had to squeeze.) My only gripe has been that I can't find these in local stores. I only found them in one color in one store, and I want to buy ones of other colors for my kids (to tell ours apart from one another). So, it's internet shopping time for me!

Great bottle, some problems with cap

By:
June 30, 2009

I agree with most people who have reviewed this item. The water bottle is great, it is one of the few Nalgenes that fit into a cup holder in the car. However, I had this waterbottle in my bag for a few days and only remembered it was in there when I found the contents of the bottle on the seat of the car.

I enjoy the ease of not having to unscrew the top, but now will only travel with the bottle if it is empty :)

great water bottle

The only issue I can come up with with this bottle is that it sometimes springs open and spills water all over the place...besides that the thing is great.

After all the publicity about PBA I saw this one mentioned in a magazine as PBA free. I ordered it and love it. I use it at work and keep refilling it in the office. Love the top.

Great bottle!

I love this bottle - it's so easy to clean in the dishwasher, so easy to drink from (i had been using a non-bpa bottle where you had to bite on the cap and I hated that.)

I also love the colors - I have blue, green, and orange/red.

Perfect!!!

Bottle good, cap bad

Its a great size for by messenger bag, doesnt get skanky if you keep consistantly using it or dry it out if your not using it. But I have to echo that it will tend to leak on you, especially if your like to play with the lid like I do or if carry it in a bag on its side like I do. My suggestion: get the 32 ounce nalgene and suck up the wide mouth, or get the nalgene with this small screw top. If you need a smaller diameter bottle, take a look at the clean canteens.

Lots of Problems With the Lid

By:
July 3, 2008

It is great to have bpa free bottles. I bought three. And have had nothing but trouble with them leaking, spilling, etc.

if you use these in a carefully controlled environment... so they never tip more than about 30 degrees or so AND if you make sure nothing comes in contact with the lid (like a backpack strap tapping it) you are probably ok. For example I used the bottle in a spinning (cycling) class today. Worked perfect.

I lost a liter of water when I put my backpack in my car before a hike. My wife lost half a liter of water due to the lid popping off and sloshing in one of her outside pockets for a water bottle.

I cant depend on these. I am going to buy another brand.
