Nordica Speedmachine 14 Ski Boot - Men's - 2007

The Nordica Men's Speedmachine 14 Ski Boot's stiff 130-120 flex helps you drive and turn your skis with precise control, so you're aggressive ski style won't land you in a tree well. The Speedmachine flex adjuster has two modes—the hard mode handles tight turns on ice and hard-pack, and the soft option gives you more flexibility for off-piste descents. The thermo-moldable liner and bi-injected design gives your feet total support throughout your turns and keeps your feet comfy, so they don't feel like they've been squeezed in a vise all day.

Bottom Line: Unleash your speed demon with Nordica's Speedmachine 14 Ski Boots.

Highly recommended

I skied on these all last season and really liked them. Even though I've been skiing regularly for 10+ years, these are only the second pair of ski boots that I have bought- and only the first where I went for a performance-oriented fit. As expected the liner definitely packs in so buy these on the snug side. I went to a recognized master bootfitter, and these were one of only two boots in his shop that worked for me due to my high instep and wide forefoot. If this describes your footshape, definitely try some of the Nordica boots.

I would definitely second what another reviewer said and say that the 130/120 flex rating should be taken with a grain of salt. My old boots were had a much lower stiffness rating and yet these boots have not felt intimidating. I don't have enough experience to estimate what the flex might really be, but I wouldn't be scared off by the flex rating of this boot.

Comfort and Control

Great fitting boot for med to large foot. Accomodates a high instep nicely. Adjustable flex control (soft/hard) lets you set your flex preference. Very comfortable boot from day 1. Great spot-on control and feel for the snow, and combined with my Volkl AC3's, the sweet spot is the size of Rhode Island !

Great all around

I love these boots. I've been skiing in them for 2 seasons now and they have never given me a problem. They were a great fit out of the box and then when I threw in my custom footbeds they were even better. The flex is perfect. Great control on every surface and there is enough give when your coming off of a hard landing.

For Most Anybody

The description is pretty correct on this one. I found a good amount of control with less effort and the fit was almost too easy. I'm used to squeezing my foot into race boots that are 2 sizes too small. I was able to do that here, but with less of the squeeze.
I don't think that the flex numbers should be taken too seriously on this boot because it felt easier to push around than the usual 120-130 flex boots. Those with small volume feet might want to go smaller than usual on the fit, but the med to large size feet will be right at home.
