I'm a beginner/intermediate skier, and I just purchased these boots because this seems like an amazing deal. Was this a bad decision since these are intended for advanced skiers?

If you decide they are too advanced and want to sell them, please let me know. I love mine and would like to buy a pair for my adult daughter who is an advanced skier. Just has to be the right size and price.Joyce - If you're interested in a slightly used pair in 24.5, I just posted an eBay auction. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260363054591

Good Boot. Shame about the service.

A good boot, which I first tried as a demo pair, then purchased later. Initially soft and unresponsive, until I cranked up the stiffness settings and got the canting changed around. I kinda wish they had more forward lean, which would suit my skiing style more, but they're fine for recreational purposes, and intermediate/advanced all purpose skiing.

The only minor issue is that the seal around the toes isn't perfectly watertight, so snow gets trapped then melts, making my toes a little damp. Not a problem on warmer days (i.e. anything above -10 degress centigrade), but on the truly cold days, it make things chilly. Boot warmer packs have helped overcome this issue.

Backcountry wanted nothing to do with me, when I asked for their help to sort the issue and told me to speak to Nordica. Nordica then told me that all repairs have to be issued by the retailer, so I should speak to backcountry. They then said that if the retailer couldn't arrange the repair, I would then have to get it done myself for a price, which would also void the warranty.

The product is great, follow up care is absolutely useless from both Backcountry and Nordica. Mixed feelings about purchasing again.

What is the difference between size 24 & 24.5 (I was told that the ".5" is simply wider.....Is this true?

The difference between the whole (24.0) and half (24.5) size is the thickness of the liner, so yes, the 24.5 will be a little wider, but only because the liner is thinner. The shell of the 24 and the 24.5 are the same size. From what I have heard, Nordicas tend to run wide, but I don't know about their higher performance boots.

Very niiice!

I bought these boots under strict instructions from my boot-fitter in Aspen Highlands. I should note that customizations were made after the purchase - but I have weird feet, so it was necessary. I added custom insoles & lifts under the toes. However, they are a nice stiff boot, very comfy - great overall performance. If you've got more normal feet - these should be great out of the box. They've really stepped up my game.

I have large calves. Most boots are to high in the back. What is the distance from the top of the back of the boot to the bottom.

Great High Performace Ski Boot

By:

I love this boot. My turns, especially in tight spaces ie. trees improved a ton. They're super-responsive yet comfortable. I didn't have the new boot blues for more than a day or two.
