Good idea but misses the mark. Made well but not worth the money. If the system supported itself a little bit more it would make more sense. Who builds modular storage for a trunk and then makes it without any internal structure or rigidity? I mean, what were they thinking? Other than that gripe it's pretty well put together and looks good when it has stuff in it.

I picked up a 4 cube version of this at WalMart for $20. WooHoo! It was identical except for the pricey Mountainsmith logo. Mine has some off brand logo there but the construction is the same.

Great packing system for short trips with a family of 4!

I say get one!... and if you find one for $20 somewhere, well good on ya.

I've been wanting one of these for years, so now that my car has been detailed, I'm off to a fresh start. No more ghetto milk crate with stuff spilling out. Got my ski gear in one compartment, dog stuff in the second, and emergency supplies in the third--all labeled and tidy. Perfect!

If you like to carry a lot of stuff in your car -- and you're organized, this system is perfect for you.

In the summer I carry two in my car: one with gear & clothes for a first responder team and the other with standard car stuff & emergency gear(maps, window cleaner, umbrella, flashlight, extra fleece, hat, water, energy bars & a book). In the winter I add in the winter emergency bag of warm clothes, boots, extra mittens & gloves, goggles & waterproof jacket & pants.

Packed into these bags, all of this gear takes up remarkably little room when it is organized!

I love the modular hauler system. I have the cubes organized by their contents on some shelves in my basement. First Aid and hydration in one, Cooking gear in another, Winter clothes in another, Winter gear in another, and so on. Depending on the planned activity I grab the cubes I need put them in the hauler and away I go. I put table of contents in the clear lids to identify contents. The cubes are different colors so it is easy to organize with them. Blue for winter, red for first aid etc. They also help in packing for a backpacking trip and make it easy to put things away when you get home. The cubes are the best part of the system and you get more bang for your buck when purchased in the system. The hauler is handy too.
