Forget what you think you know about tan pants and get in to the Mountain Khakis Men's Teton Twill. Inspired and designed by and for day- to- day life in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, these durable pants will change your mind about khakis. The Teton Twill isn't made for the sidelines of a tennis court but for those that put themselves and their clothing to the test of every day mountain living. Walking the dogs down a gravel road in the morning, push starting the ancient pickup and leading the pack at work all day takes a pant that transcends the gap of business casual to work wear. Their custom fabric is made from double-plied cotton thread for long-lasting durability and a smooth drape. Taking triple-needle stitching and metal hardware from their work pants, Mountain Khakis makes the toughest twill to be found on hill or dale.
Bottom Line: The Teton Twills are pants you can live in – get two so you'll always have a clean pair.
These are great pants, love the retro khaki colour! They're a little more under the radar than the Original Mountain Pants, I can wear them to work, but still bomb-proof. The only problem is the sizing! As a tall guy, the 34's are not 34", and the 32" waist is 31" tops, but the 34" is a huge jump up. Still, nice pants!
I have a pair of the originals and I like them, but my waist is a fit 33 and MK does not offer odd sizes. The result is that the 32 is too snug, but the 34 is way too baggy, as mentioned in one of the other reviews. Overall: excellent quality, style and cut, just get the proportions better.
What is the leg opening for a 34/34 or 34/36 pant? i saw an answer below where someone said the leg opening range is 19" to 20 3/4" but I'd like to know what it is for this specific size, if anyone knows.
First, I really like the construction, material and the 1% For the planet mission. I just wished they fit! Got the 32 waist; too tight. Traded for 34" waist a bit too loose and the crotch was way, way too low (weird!). I would try them again if MK resized their patterns so the 32" is truly a 32" waist!!! Or, add a 33" waist size option.
I'm big on the size of opening on the leg. I have big feet so I look rather goofy in pants with a small opening. Can someone tell the size of the opening of the pant at the very bottom and the size of the outseam on a size that is 34 or 36 long?
The outseam for the Teton Twill in a 34" inseam is 19.5" and for a 36" inseam it is 19 5/8" The leg opening is graded with the sizes, so it depends on the exact size you are looking for. For a 30" waist 19" and for 42" waist, it is a 20 3/4" opening.
These are comfy with cool pockets. I can wear out on the town, on the trail, or around the yard working. They can take anything. I wish I had more of these.
I have to wear khakis pants at one of my jobs and I hate khaki pants but these things are the best. The are bomb-proof and I am known to be hell on gear. They seem to run a bit small or at least it seems that way to me. I normally wear a 36 so thats what I got and they are a hair to small but just barely. I got some 38s and they are a little big but i wear a belt, so either way they both are good.
The hidden pocket sits flush right behind the other pocket - I actually have slid things into the hidden pocket on multiple occasions thinking it was the regular pocket. However since they're so deep, nothings coming out unless you want it to.

These pants may be the most comfortable pants I have ever owned. I like to wear these to bed in my sleeping bag on cold nights because the material is so comfy. Durable and nice enough to wear to the office, my only complaint is that after a few washes, the legs shrank and my pants are close to high-water status, but that just gave me an excuse to buy another pair. Buy them an inch or two longer than you normally would. The best feature is definately the hip pockets. The shape lest me carry my knife clipped on the side and when I reach in to get my keys, I don't scrape my hand.
I gave the the MK Original Mountain Pant 4 stars but I will give these 5 because the material is very comfortable. They are exactly the same cut as the MK originals as far as I can tell. Same issues with the waist being a size small so I recommend ordering the waist a size up. Length felt about right. I got them during the 50% off event and they are a great deal. Bottom line: get rid of your cheap work jeans, these are much better.
hi im not sure as to how the sizing works with these pants. im a 32 normally and i see from people that you need to go a size larger. could you please suggest a size for me
Mountain Khakis run true to size, but since most styles are 100% cotton, keep in mind that there will be some shrinkage if you dry them and different fabrics shrink different amounts. However, most shrinkage (roughly 1-2%)will occur in the length, not the waist, so a small amount of length in the inseam is added to make up for this. A lot of pants on the market give a bit of wiggle room to the waists, intending to keep egos happy. Mountain Khakis are actually 34" if the size is 34." So, as panhandler suggested, if you are a true 34" waist, buy 34" waist. If you are between sizes, probably the bigger size will be perfect after washing.
These are the best weekend/play pants I have ever worn. They look great. They are super comfy for anything from hanging out to hiking. They fit wonderfully. They are built to last.
The Teton Twill pants that I bought are the best pair of pants Ive ever owned. They are very comfortable, and I will be buying more. I would highly recommend these pants to anybody who likes a good pair of britches.
these pants are just as sweet as the mountain khakis original mountain pant with just a little different look. the teton twills seem to be a little bit dressier and are good for work/school.
These are my only Mountain Khaki pants I own and I love them. They are great for the mountains or for occasions when more formal attire is required. I have worn these with a button down shirt and they go great. the extra pocket is a nice touch. These hold up great and are extremely tough material and thread. Get these pants.
At the risk of sounding slightly redundant here, I'll never have to wear another pair of pants. Bombproof construction so they work on the trail, but a more upscale look than the utility pant so you can easily transition into the office. $70 + for a pair of pants is tough to justify, but I plan on picking up a pair every time I see them on sale. The waist isn't too small, I've always worn a 32, and I wear a 32 in these pants - they just sit higher up on the waist than your average pair of gap khakis.
I love my Teton Twills and wear em' to work, school, church, hiking, pretty much everywhere. The only problem is that they run small. A 34 x 34 Teton Twill is equal to a 32 x 32 in just about every other pant I have ever wore, they are tight around the waist and almost approach "high-water" status cause their too short. So if your a tall, lanky guy like me you may want to size up.
This is the third pair of Mountain Khaki pants I have purchased in the last two years. I have used the pants from camping in the Sawtooths in Idaho to flats fishing in the Keys. These pants are stylish yet functional. They only get better the more you wear them!
Weird sizing, but when you figure them out, WOW. Greatest pants ever. Most comfortable. Gusseted crotch makes a huge difference in usability. Tetons fit different than other cuts, so be careful. They are truer to regular sizes than the mountain pants or alpine utility.
I've had issues with fit around the legs and hip area, while pants fit okay at the waist. These pants are tremendous in fit and durability. If you've had problems like I've had, then look no further and try these out. I'm a customer for life if they keep making them like this.
This is my first pair of Mountain Khaki pants and I can honestly say that they might be the most comfortable pants I have ever owned. They do run a touch small, so I would recommend that you size up one size from what you normally would wear, but other than that they are are flawless. They definately won't be my last pair of these.
Just a good looking comfortable pair of khaki pants. No complaints here. Nice durable rugged wrinkle-free cotton material. Wide leg openings fit nicely over all types of footwear. I don't normally feel like I need to break in a pair of khaki's but with these being more rugged than your average khaki's, a little breaking-in is necessary. Sizing is pretty much true to size, if not just a bit snug. I'd recommend going with the larger size if you think you are between sizes. But I like my pants to fit more relaxed and slightly lower on my waist, so I guess its all just personal preference. Overall, good pants.
They work for me for work and play. They wash well (easy to avoid wrinkles), fit well (if you exercise), and look good. I like wearing mine. I think of them as my new nice jeans.
I bought these to be an all around pant that I can wear to work and then to the dog park or hiking. And that's what these pants are. They are very comfortable and seem to be made very well of durable but soft material. They are not as hard wearing as a carhart type pant but I don't doubt that these will hold up well for a long time. They are also a lot more comfortable right off the rack than a heavier pant would be and with the inseam gusset they give a nice amount of freedom of movement. They wash well, I have gotten them fairly muddy and they came clean easily. My only question is why they have the extra pocket on the right side. It seems a little unnecessary but maybe that's just their way of standing out. Overall I think these are my new favorite pants and they will be taking the crown from comfortable climbing pants by Prana and Mammut.
I am sick and tired of the sweaty lower end khakis that I am used to. I was looking for a comfortable pair of Khaki pants that could stay with me all day long standing on a trade show floor or driving in a car. I finally found them! The Mountain Khaki Teton Twill Pant is a dream come true with the crotch gusset. Great room... no sweat. Looking forward to purchasing another pair soon. Most importantly, MADE IN THE USA! Support our Country! I would recommend these pants to anyone.
These pants are stellar! They are very comfortable. They are way softer than I expected and do not restrict movement at all. I have found the durability top of the line on these pants (and other Mountain Khaki pants). I could use these pants to hike for 10 miles then go straight into the office. They are casual looking for business use, but do not look out of place in the mountains. I got a 32x30, the size I normally wear, and they fit perfect. If you live the mountain lifestyle, these pants are for you!
I don't know what custom double-plied cotton is, but I do now it is very smooth, soft and comfortable. I would wear them all the time but it is getting to be summer, maybe I will order some in shorts right now. I ordered 30x32 and I found that to be pretty accurate. Maybe just a little tight in the waist.
