Mountain House Spaghetti with Meat Sauce - 2 Serving Entree
Ahh, the pleasure of a fine Italian diner after a week on the trail. Well, maybe not the wine but at least the great food. Mountain House's Freeze Dried Spaghetti with Meat Sauce meal for two is lightweight, easy to make, and best of all, tastes great. It comes in a foil package that stands up on its own for easy eatin' and cookin'.
MH Spaghetti & Meat Sauce is a chow line flashback. I'm in line, tray in hand, waiting to receive my mega scoop of spaghetti & meat sauce. Plop. There it is. Army food all over again without the plop!
This is another good meal from Mountain House. You can thicken it up a bit by using less water, about 3 or 4 oz less. This is a good meal for one person, but not enough for two hungry men.
First of all, it is delicious, period. Just good tucker! Second point- after doing some label comparing, the spaghetti packs the most calories in the least amount of grams. So if your concerned about weight Spaghetti is for you!
2nd to best to the Mountain House Lasagna. The red sauce and pasta rehydrate very well. There is a reminder of the Spaghetti-O's flavor from being a kid, but perfect after a hard day hiking. I recommend all red sauce pastas by Mountain House, they have it mastered.
An avid buyer of Mountain House products, I must say that the Spaghetti with Meat Sauce entree is right on the money when it comes to quality and taste. Easy to cook, and the two servings can actually serve three hungry average weight guys. I'm only giving it 4 stars because I love the Lasagna with Meat Sauce that much more, as when I make my own spaghetti I like a more robust sauce then just plain ole meat flavoured. Overall, a defite buy.
This was a great relief from top ramen and granola. We had this the first night and had the mac and cheese the second. This is a lot better I would say. Also If you have a way to measure your water make sure to do that. It is a lot easier to make this in the pan than in the bag like they recommend.
When I first tried the "spaghetti" I was very disappointed, as it really was no more than a thin tomato soup. When you add noodles to it, however, it turns into the most delicious spaghetti meal. Therefore 4 points.
I loved this one, for a 10 day trip with a variety of meals this was my FAVORITE. We actually added a little more water than recommended and this turned into almost a soup. It made this even better. I really loved the flavor of this one. GET IT!
I am a huge fan of spagetti and I think this is as good as it will get to eating spagetti on the trail. Granted it doesn't taste as great as the Italian restaurant down the street, it's pretty darn good
I was supposed to be eating this spaghetti meal 6 miles into the west rim trail of Zion national park, thanks to the rain and the national park service's no dog policy, I ended up eating it on my couch watching videos. It was still fantastic.
