Mountain House Spaghetti with Meat Sauce - 1 Serving Entree
Ahh, the pleasure of a fine Italian diner after a week on the trail. Well, maybe not the wine but at least the great food. Mountain House's Freeze Dried Spaghetti with Meat Sauce meal for one is light, easy to make, and best of all, tastes great. It comes in a foil package that stands up on its own for easy eatin' and cookin'.
Bottom Line: Real Italian food when you're on the trail.
This is my favorite backcountry meal as well! Tastes great, and there's minimal cleanup, unlike the lasagna, which you have to scrub off of your spoon. I've found that the double serving pouches have too much food for one person, but not enough for two. The ProPacks are perfect for one hungry hiker!
If you love pasta with meat sauce then you'll love this meal. It cooks in its own resealable pouch which means no mess after the meal and the taste is every bit as good as the lasagna meal plus it is much easier to clean your utensils after the spaghetti vs. the lasagna (the lasagna cheese sticks wickedly tight to utensils).
Great taste, but make sure that you stir it really well from the bottom when you add water and then let it sit for a little bit longer than recommended wait time. It makes an awesome recovery meal as well as a good power breakfast in the morning for a 35 mile push. Taste is very real, you don't even tnink dehydrated, but instead think of an Olive Garden. Just let it sit for a while before you dig in.
This is my favorite backcountry meal, hands down. It is the best tasting meal I have had. I have not yet tried the one-serving pouch yet, but I am sure the contents are the same. I like the idea of the single pouch. It looks more compact than the two-serving pack. You can't go wrong with this meal.
