Mountain House Beef Stroganoff w/Noodles - 1 Serving Entree
There's nothing like a little comfort food after a long day of hiking. Mountain House's Freeze Dried Beef Stroganoff meal for one is just like mom used to make only it's lighter, tastier, and well, you have to make it on your own. It comes in a foil package that stands up on its own for easy eating and cooking.
Bottom Line: Because you can't bring mom on every backpacking trip.
Easy preparation & clean-up. Pro-Pak size is nice when limited pack space is an issue. Portion size & taste is adequate when you're hungry. Three times more sodium then necessary. Like everything else, READ THE LABEL!
It's a very nice concept, with the vacuum packaging for very high elevations. However, it will only work at elevations over 16,000 ft, below that, the regular packaging works just as well, even from the sea level, and packs more stuff for the money. As for the taste, it's ok when you just need to stuff yourself with some dehydrated junk food after a day of climbing, but the meat in it tastes like dog food. And looks like it too.
This is pretty good for a dehydrated food for backpacking. One of these serves two, and it is really filling. Cook then let sit for 9 minutes to set up and serve. Light weight and really packable.
This is a tasty meal either as a stand alone or suplement to a seperately prepared meat. Plenty of food for 2. It's a little bland so add some pepper and garlic for better flavor.
I like this meal quite a bit. I wish it had a bit stronger flavor but it was good. I have only tried it in the two-serving size. I think the single serving size is my next food purchase. I like the more compact packaging.
