Mountain Hardwear Wicked Snap Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's - 2007

New from Mountain Hardwear this season is the Men's Wicked Snap Button-Down Short-Sleeve Shirt. Mountain Hardwear made this quick-drying, wicking polyester shirt with UPF 35 sun protection. With snap closures instead of buttons, this shirt is a breeze to get on and off.

Bottom Line: Wander the streets of Thailand, visit Uluru in Australia, or fly fish the Fremont River in Utah in your wicking, UPF-35 Mountain Hardwear Wicked Snap Shirt.

Not durable at all

By:

This shirt looks sharp and feels great to have on, but for a supposedly rugged shirt it just doesn't stand up. I've gone through two now in the past year. They snag on the smallest little things. Who wants to wear a shirt around with a bunch of thread pulls all over it?

Hope It's Not Endangered

This is the last shirt that Mtn Hardwear offers that it still in the original Wicked fabric, which, although is somewhat susceptible to snags (I've fixed all but one snag in 3 years on 12 shirts, BTW) there is no shirt that wears as cool or dries as fast. The other plusses of this shirt is that it has a collar so you can go from trail to the restaurant. Well, OK, a casual restaurant anyway. Close-fit, short tails (so it doesn't look sloppy). It's all about comfort and style, not hardcore durability, but again, durability hasn't been a validated concern for me.

I want to get one of these for a trip to the tropics in the hot

I want to get one of these for a trip to the tropics in the hot season, but I had the polo version of this shirt fall apart in one day on me, what other shirts use a similar material but are a little more durable?

This fabric is called Kool Knit and is used throughout the industry by different manufacturers... and in all cases the fabric is the same. No better no worse. We have come up with a newer version found in the Mountain Hardwear Wicked Tees but you don't get the collar with that particular shirt. I am sure we will upgrade this shirt with the 'wicked lite' fabric as well in the years to come. As for your shirt falling apart... that sounds fishy. Have you sent it in for a warranty check by Mountain Hardwear? I have been mountain biking with my wicked tee with no problems for two seasons now. I can't imagine it coming apart in two days... send it in and get it checked out.

Not rugged at all.

By:

Like the other reviewers, this shirt is not rugged at all and gets caught on things and threads pull away from the fine mesh of the shirt, leaving very noticeable visual damage in the otherwise smooth texture. This happened within my first day of using it.

Not as breathable as I would like. I like Nylon or Nylon/Polyester blends much better, like the MH Excursion shirt.

very nice shirt

I wear this shirt for golfing. It's very comfortable; but I have to agree they on smallest little things, I have to use scissors to clean up the thread pulls. Buy one size up; I wear Small but have to reorder for medium size since the Small size shirts made me look like the Incredible Hulk.

Bulletproof shirt

Took this shirt for a 3 week trip in China. Hiked Tai Shan but mostly just rambled around the country. Washed in the sink every night - this shirt is awesome! Looked as good at the end of the trip as when I started. Nice fabric, great cooling. My 5 year old dubs it the Buzz Lightyear shirt from Star Command. Highest possible recommendation.

These shirts are the greatest. Ultra cool, ultra light, and superbly packable, I could not ask more from a shirt. I even wear them to work.

Cool shirt, could be more rugged

Surprisingly easy to snag given that is supposedly outdoor sports apparel.
