Someone wants a 0 degree bag - I keep seeing various definitions

Someone wants a 0 degree bag - I keep seeing various definitions of this - are we talking 0C or 32F? I've seen that on a couple. Now these say 0F or -18C. Is there a standard?

This is the best sleeping bag made. It is extreamly warm. Also super light weight. It is the best 0 degree sleeping bag. I use it every where i go. i been in zero degree weather with this bag and it keeps me nice and tosty. This bag got complety soaked and still keept me warm. It would be a bit snug on anyone bigger than i am (i am 5'6, 130, i have the large). But is well worth the price

Bottom Line I would recomend this bag to anyone

I am trying to buy a waterproof bag for a person who sleeps outside,

I am trying to buy a waterproof bag for a person who sleeps outside, without a tent, year round in Eugene, Oregon. The winter's are very wet, but the tempature rarely goes below 20 degrees farenheit. The bag needs to be seriously waterproof and very durable as he will use this every night. Is this bag the right one for this or do you have another recommendation? Thanks, Glenn

Glen. This bag is not a waterproof bag. But it would work well if combined with a bivy sack. There are very few bags on the market that would be considered waterproof with out the help of a bivy sack or some other shell to go over it. The closest bags I have seen on the market that could be considered virtually waterproof are the Expedition bags from Mountain Hardwear. This is due to the fact that they are made with a Conduit waterproof /breathable shell and are 'welded' together (No stitch lines for water to wick through.) Check our Expedition Bags and Bivy Sacks out on this site or on our website mountainhardwear.com . Hope this helps!
