definitely long-way past the knees. If you like longer pair of shorts these are perfect. They are about 2-4 inches longer than most trail shorts (most are 10-12 inch inseams). The fabric is lightweight and very soft. At first I thought they were to nice to bang around the backcountry but took a shot anyway. Very durable and have withstood everything I have thrown at them. The one negative is they seem to be difficult to get clean. I have the curb color and I can't ge them clean. Tried everything from tide to oxiclean. Still ove to wear them.

pretty groovy shorts here.. there are some surprises though..

They look like they have a button closure, but they have a snap... not a HUGE deal, but I prefer a button. Like a previous reviewer said... they are LOOOOOONG.... and I'm 6'5" I would rather they were a slimmer fit as well. I wear a 32" waist usually and the Medium is a little big on me... I'd say the Medium is right at a 33". The material is really nice. I ordered the blue and the cocobolo... The blue looks like it does in the pic... the Cocobolo is straight up burgundy! Whatever.. I just needed some shorts with pockets... I have like 7 pairs of boardshorts and not much else. I'm not exactly thrilled with these, but I will keep 'em.

i wish all of my shorts were made out of this material. light, soft, but still durable. seems to dry quickly, but doesn't have that look of bathing suit material, which is a plus for me. I gave it a 3 bc i like shorts just below the knee. the trotter trunks fit way past the knee and the crotch to torso is very long also, causing me to wear them higher on the waist. I'm 5'7" and got the small size. if you're taller, they'll look better.

awesome pair of shorts, as soon as i put them on i fell inlove great feel great fit lightweight you must get these!
