Mountain Hardwear Super Power Tight - Women's

A breathable jersey knit at the gusset and knee-backs of the Mountain Hardwear Women’s Super Power Tights make these stretchy pants comfy for chilly-weather trail running. The jersey panels vent hot air out as you run, and the Polartec Lightweight Power Stretch fabric covers your muscles and joints with soft, stretchy, supportive goodness. Ditch your gym workout and enjoy your run in the crisp fall air.

Bottom Line: Warmth, with a bit of breathable fabric where it counts.

Not bad...

By:

I just got these, and am a little confused. The ones I got are solid black, not the black/gray of the photo shown. The ones I got look exactly like the men's version which are full price right now... the solid black, with reflectors on the back of the leg. Perhaps BC.com sent me the newer version of these pants (the tag has the correct name?). Regardless... I like them! The pants are a warmer weight, with a slight brushed fleece. The gussets are a similar material, but without the lining. The pants are not super thick, so I'd say they would be good for running in 20ish degree weather, anything colder and you may want another layer. I got my normal size, and they are a bit looser than expected... and LONGER! I am almost 5'8'', and have to roll them up a few inches... even with the leg stuffed in my shoe. For this price, I think they are a good deal for cold weather running/biking... but they are not perfect.

Can these be used for running in cold weather or are they better

Can these be used for running in cold weather or are they better as a baselayer in the snow?

Either use would be a great use of these tights. My better half wears them both ways although they do get a little warm as a baselayer. Hope this helps!

Material seems a bit thin for Chicago winter

By:

I returned these without trying them on. The material seems a bit too thin for what I would expect, plus they are way too long (I am 5'1"). The knee area does not look like provide much support compared to the cw-x. Otherwise, the construction and material are fine.
