Thought it would be a good bag... That was until I tried to put my laptop in it. The laptop pocket is a good inch and a half smaller than stated. The laptop pocket wasn't very thick. My laptop is 16 1/2" and didn't come close to fitting... Had to send it back!!!

I like the bag and all of the compartments. I also love that it can turn into a one strap backpack. I wish the entire strap was padded, and the bag could definitely use a tote handle on the outside. But all-in-all the bag works for me. Plenty of room for my laptop and plenty of room for extra accessories.

The only thing I would change about it to give it five stars, would be a tote handle on the main outside flap in addition to the shoulder strap. The material is really cool... super durable and totally waterproof.

pros -
- padded sleeve for laptop
- laptop sits 1" in, NOT flat on back wall, so it actually wraps on your back. this is a huge plus.
- multiple organizational compartments and pockets
- lined glasses pocket
- zip/elastic cinch side pocket for easy grabbing of stuff or a water bottle

cons -
heavy as hell

i went through about 10 bags from rei, buying, riding for a week, and returning, until i found this one. it was a tough call between this and the similar osprey pack, but really this thing rivals freitags for durability and i think it's actually a bit more functional.

At first I wasn't going to get this bag because it's a little pricey for a scrub like me. After looking through lots of bags though, this one was the winner. It hold a ton of stuff and is very comfortable to carry. The only thing I would change about it to give it five stars, would be a tote handle on the main outside flap in addition to the shoulder strap. There is one on the inside, but it's just not what I would call functional. If you don't mind tossing in a few extra bucks for a great bag, get one of these!
