Mountain Hardwear Seismic Convertible Pant - Men's - 2005

The Mountain Hardwear Seismic Convertible Pant will shake the foundations of what you think about convertible pants. Well, probably not, since they pretty much are just pants that turn into shorts, but they are made of some of the best lightweight technical fabric around. Jean-style construction with 5 pockets and belt loops is combined with the aforementioned zip off legs and quick-drying, abrasion resistant Kanvaz Lite fabric to produce a killer pant for hiking or all-around wear.

Bottom Line: Lose the legs with the Mountain Hardwear Seismic Convertible Pants.

They're good for summer hiking. They brush the branches (and thorns) aside better than raw skin, but don't heat you up. The detachable pant legs are fine, but the zipper area for it is a bit thick and you notice it. You can wear it around town, but it lacks for pockets for that purpose. I like my North Face version for that, but the material is heavier. So, if it's hot, these are great. When it's cooler, I use the North Face.
