Mountain Hardwear Power Stretch Suit - Men's

The Mountain Hardwear Men's Power Stretch Suit eliminates cold spots between your jacket and pants, and it offers full-coverage under hardshell bibs. The seams are flat locked, so they won't chafe or dig into your shoulders under a pack. The 4-way stretch material moves with your body for ice or alpine climbing. The Polartec fleece not only insulates but it moves moisture away from your skin to the fabric's surface, so you stay dry and comfortable. Mountain Hardwear overlaid the knees and all the seams, so they'll have more give and durability. The rainbow rear zipper matches most alpine climbing pants.

Bottom Line: Stay warm on long alpine and mixed routes.

Super!!

Nice, warm, light, very efficient and useable. If you want something that can be used all over and want to consolidate two pieces into one, this is it. I'm 5'11" at 160 and a medium fits wonderfully.

The Outdoor Research Saturn Suit is similar to this product.Which one I should buy for daily mountain bike commuting?I live upstate New York near Canada. The winter comes on usabout 25F and stays around when I come home after midnight.Durability, warmth and comfort level are considered the most.

The suits are pretty much the same... made of the same fabric, Polartec Powerstrecth, and have similar bells and whistles and will provide similar performance... therefore this is a tough call! Get the one that fits you the best. One solution would be to get them both and send one back! Hope this helps!

Base warmth, no gaps

By:
October 13, 2005

This suit makes a fantastic base layer in very cold climbing conditions or a stretchy mid-layer for skiing. It eliminates the gap between pants and jacket. I like to wear it over light- or mid-weight wool thermals during mid winter Sierra excursions. If I'm moving hard then I only need a wind-breaking layer over it.

IS THERE SOMETHING SIMILAR FOR WOMEN

IS THERE SOMETHING SIMILAR FOR WOMEN

I know this is an old question, but there is a women's equivalent: look up the Outdoor Research Banff Bodysuit. It's got full length sleeves instead of the farmer john top, but otherwise looks very similar.

There is NOT a women's version. But, I do know a few women who wear this and size it accordingly. It is very stretchy and fits allot of different bodies well...Hope this helps!

The best you can get

By:
April 4, 2006

These suits are amazing, I live and work in the mountains and have found these are the best next to skin layer you can get for comfort and keeping my skin dry from moisture and warm. I prefer the suit and a Mountain Hardwear powerstretch top to the pant because all the moving you do going up and down the hills the suit holds everything in place and you get no draft around waist.
Bottom line: I love them and now have four sets which I live in.

None Better

By:

I own 3 pair of these. You can't wear them out, they breath well, and they are comfortable and very warm. The one piece design keeps cold air from going down your back when you bend over. Also - the front zipper is 2 way so you can access certain body parts when necessary. It also has a moon shaped zipper in the rear for 'mooning' your buddy, or taking care of business.
