If you’ve heard of, stroked, or actually worn Mountain Hardwear’s Monkey Phur fabric, you know it’s terribly hard to resist. The Mountain Hardwear Women’s Panzee Hooded Fleece Jacket has a lightweight version of Monkey Phur, so you get ridiculously soft fleece fabric that feel s feather-light. Zip into this fleece and relax in your mountain cabin, or pack the compressible Panzee into your backpack in case it gets cold on fall sightseeing tours. When winter rolls around, the soft hood comes in handy, and the velvety-smooth fabric slips easily under a shell.
So I bought this jacket to be an insulating layer and it's been absolutely amazing! First off - the blue seriously looks like cookie monster and just a warning.. you may receive more hugs than usual wearing this because it's so soft. I've been incredibly satisfied with this jacket so far! FIT: I usually wear a small, but in this jacket I got a medium so the length would be better on me. The sleeves are a great length now as well. Overall a great jacket, I'm excited to see how it holds up!
How warm is this jacket? I'm traveling through Europe this fall and beginning of the winter. I want something to put over my fleece base layer. Will this do the trick for most of October? Also, is it machine washable?
Kathryn. Are you looking for a shell or softshell or another fleece to go over the one you already have? The Panzee is made with a thinner thermal fleece from Polartec that works great as an insulating layer and will keep you very warm. If you want something to keep weather at bay in addition to your fleece... I would consider a softshell jacket or a lightweight shell. Check out the Women's Offwidth Jacket from Mountain Hardwear as a suggestion for a good softshell to put over what you already have. Hope this info helps!
This is a great, soft, warm jacket. I have had another brand similar to this, but I really like the softness of the cuffs, thumb holes and extra styling of my Mt. Hardwear.
I have a Mountaint Hardwear jacket from about two years ago. It is a small and fits well. I was wondering it this jacket runs along the same size range as past MH jackets.
All of our jackets are cut on different patterns. Some are similar some are not. Sizing wise, we try to keep sizes the same or similar between patterns. So, if you were a small before and you haven't changed... I would bet that you would be a small in this jacket. Hope this helps.
I just received this jacket in the mail, and the second my fingers touched it, I was instantly happy. Not only was the outside nice and fuzzy, but the inside is incredibly soft as is the wrist cuffs. I was also surprised to see that there are thumb holes in the wrist cuffs! Added bonus! It fits very true to size. I have a bit longer torso, so it's a little shorter than I'd like it to be. It also has little drawstrings at the bottom so you can cinch it to be a bit more form fitting. All in all, very very happy with it.
The Mountain Hardwear Panzee Hooded Fleece Jacket is an insanely soft and warm jacket. I love that it has a hood, even though I rarely use it, and you can't argue with thumb holes! Fits true to size: 5foot2 and 113 = size Small.
