Great jacket for the money

I am a huge gear head. In saying i own 3 TNF, 2 Columbia, 1 Arc, and 2 MH light/midweight fleece jackets. The MH microchill is my favorite LIGHTweight fleece. It is extremly soft and comfortable. Doesnt block much wind but not sopposed to. I wore it on a 3 day backpacking trip in 30-40 degrees with a baselayer and was warm. One thing i love is the elastic cuffs under the outer cuffs. Seems to be great quality and well worth the price. My only complaint is how it attracts hair and lint. No signs of pilling yet. As size goes i am 5'10 and 185lbs and got a large. Sleeves are a bit long but fits great in torso and chest..Probably could have gone medium but i wanted room for some layers. Overall i am very happy with it.

My father likes to go on walks in the evening after work but

My father likes to go on walks in the evening after work but always seems to go less during the winter time because of the cold weather. I would like to get HIM a jacket he can wear in 20-40 degree weather, that could be worn on its own or in layers.
I have heard good things about mountain hardware, but I am unsure if this jacket will have enough warmth for what he needs it for. Does anyone who owns this particular jacket think it's a good match, or can you recommend anything else?

bri. I would suggest the Mountain Hardwear Compressor Jacket. The Microchill Jacket is nice but I would bet that the weight of this fleece will not be warm enough for your Father. Here is the link from the Backcountry site:

This is a great thin fleece jacket. Fairly warm for its size too. I love the fit. I am 5' 9" and wear a M.

I'm 5'9 and I just received this in Medium. It is a full cut, with generous material in the belly area. I was hoping for more fitted, but this is a very loose fit on me.

I'm looking for a very lightweight, full zip fleece jacket in a relaxed, fuller cut fit in the belly area, would you say this jacket is cut like that or would you describe it as more of a fitted or even semi-fitted cut? Thanks in advance!
