Comfortable and unique styling

These are unlike any other shorts I have owned. They do seem to run big in the waist. I had to return the large and go with medium. Waistband is very comfortable and the belt loop extends the entire back of the short. The pockets are not the most functional for non-backpacking use, but I understand why MH put the pockets where they did. The belt of a backpack would interfere if they were higher.

I purchased these on sale, I doubt I would have paid full price for them. They seem like they will last through years of mild abuse.

I don't like most technical hiking shorts cause the inseams are usually shorter than I prefer. These shorts are longer and fit is relaxed. They dry quick too. The chamois lined waist is very comfortable.

Weird pockets almost ruin it

I wanted to like these shorts, and I suppose I do like them, but there are too many pockets placed in odd places that I didn't find super functional. They also seemed to fit a fair amount larger than two other pairs of Mountain Hardwear shorts I bought at the same time. I would recommend the Kurtis short and the Coolidge trunk as more functional alternatives.
