Mountain Hardwear Habanero Glove

With ample water resistance, high breathability, and great dexterity, the Mountain Hardwear Men's Habañero Ski Gloves deliver a performance that advanced riders will notice. The Gore-Tex XCR inserts add extra assurance your hands will stay dry, and with optimal breathability, moisture can escape too. The Habenero's high-loft Thermic insulation and fleece work together to warm you hands in wintry weather. The water-resistant goatskin reinforcements on the fingers and durable cowhide palms ensure supreme grip so you can hold on tight through some serious powder. The nose-wipe path on the thumb and articulated cut are some of the finer details that you'll be sure to appreciate. The one-handed gauntlet cinch cord and long gauntlet length make it simple to keep annoying snow chunks out of your wrist cuffs.

Bottom Line: Talk about hot stuff; the Mountain Hardwear Men's Habanero Gloves keep your hands warm on the slopes this winter.

New kid on the block

By:
November 26, 2008

Well I had my eyes on these for about a year.
But seems nobody was going to be the first to try them.
So I got these and the black diamond guide gloves which are
considered by many on here and backcountry to
be the best. As far as looks these are a 10 super sexy
Very well made dont think you could make them better.
im holding back on the bd test as they will be in this week
and will test them side by side !
These are Far nicer then the marmot work glove which I tried last week.
They have very nice movement for such a large glove.
the best I have tried so far.
If your looking for a tiny bit cheaper then the black diamonds
these are by far the best gloves .
I hope othesr try these hidden gems!

Great gloves!

By:

I am the purchasing agent for two State Parks in northern Colorado that receive 300-600" of snow per year. Two years ago, I bought six of these gloves for use in the field by both Rangers on patrol and Technicians. Everyone has raved about them. Dexterity is unsurpassed for a mid-weight glove, and the high cuff is definitely powder-ready. In cold temps (single digits & lower), I'd recommend a liner glove or upgrade to something heavier.

Thin for a reason

By:
December 9, 2008

To answer the mr turns saying the gloves are thin
they are made thin for a reason so you have the dexterity
the bds do not have.
I tried these under 20 and they held fine with no liners.

Don't waste your money

By:

If you are going to face seriously cold temps (mountaineering/skiing) and wet conditions, don't buy these gloves. They have a thin fleece lining that does not offer much insulation. A previous review stated that the lining is thin to give you dexterity- what good is having dexterity when your fingers are numb? Go for some Hestra or BD gloves that will actually keep your hands warm.

Somewhat bummed at the lack of insulation

By:
December 8, 2008

-Dexterity: 2 turns. Lots of space in the glove, felt large for the size, would have sized down.

-Removable liner: 0 turns. The insulation felt thin in addition to the fit.

-Wrist fit: 1 turn. Again, minus points as a factor of the insulation issue and no wrist strap

-Palm material: 3 turns. Decent leather, but not as good as BD.

-Overall Construction: 3 turns. The materials were fine, just a bit big for me in a size Medium.

-Verdict: 1.8 turns. Minus points for thin insulation and loose fit if sized down, would have been higher, but insulation still a factor. I was surprised at the overall good construction of this, but gave it low points for the lack of robust insulation. Given that insulation packs out after a while, I never felt this glove would take me several years.
