Total waterproof breathable protection for stormy, high-output backcountry tours is found in the form of the Mountain Hardwear Men’s Escape Pant. Made with Gore-Tex Performance Shell fabric, the Escape ensures every trip up the skin track is a dry one. Full side zips help you dump heat and make for easy changing, while the reinforced edge guards stand up to sharp skis and boards. Mountain Hardwear also added removable adjustable suspenders to keep the Escape in place while you make turns.

Mountain Hardwear Escape Pants

Good pant if you are looking for a burly, all purpose hiking/climbing pant. Very waterproof, but a bit weighty compared to Pro-Shell. I also have climbing specific Pro Shell pants that serve a different purpose, but the Escape's are warmer with a mesh liner. For winter backpacking where they're always on, the Escapes are great. For alpine climbing where the scenario is always changing, they might be considered a little heavy going into and out or your pack. Full side zips are very convienient.
