Mountain Hardwear Destiny Jacket - Women's

Last night’s snow storm left fresh pow, a clear sky, and chilly temps this morning. Attach the removable powder skirt to the Mountain Hardwear Women’s Destiny Jacket and slip this softshell on—the PrimaLoft One insulation warms your core as you brush the snow off your car. Slip your MP3 player in one of the interior pockets once you get to the slopes, and open the Underarm zips as the day warms up.

Bottom Line: Destiny on a bluebird pow day.

In short... YES. The outer fabric however is made using an air permeable/water resistant fabric that has a great DWR (Durable Water repellent finish) So, it is not waterproof... but if used in cold environments (snowboarding) and it is snowing a bit you should stay dry and warm. Hope this helps!

say goodbye to cold ski days

I'm a wimp when it comes to cold, and this jacket does a great job keeping me warm despite the frigid temps, howling wind, and dumping snow. Fits true to size. The hood is awkwardly large for everyday wear but perfect for wearing over a helmet. If the hood was removable this would be the PERFECT jacket.

MH jackets come down to about the hips on most people, and no, it won't soak up water per se, but it's not waterproof either.

This jacket is VERY warm and comfortable. It does have a slight bulge in the front that I am hoping will flatten out once it's worn in a little, but overall I LOVE it!

Well it's hard to give an exact temperature for every person, but it should keep you plenty warm in temps above and around freezing. When things dip into the 20's and below, you may want to look into an extra layer (longsleeve shirt) to keep you plenty warm.

Wind Stopper fleece is a fleece, and this jacket isn't fleece so it doesn't have it. It does, however, block the wind quite well. It's more of a shell/windbreaker type thing, not fleecy.----------------------------This jacket is a 4-way stretch air permeable soft shell that is insulated with primaloft PL One insulation. Even though the shell is not technically windproof... the insulation inside makes it completely windproof due to construction. Again, it is windproof and it is insulated and warm! Windstopper is a PTFE laminate, like Gore Tex, that is used in many different fabrics from fleece to soft shells. Windstopper is designed to be windproof not waterproof but it does provide a huge amount of weather protection.
