Motorola SX900R Rechargeable 2-Way Radio - 2008

Perhaps when you were little, you and your best friend made two-way radios out of tin cups and a string. Then perhaps you thought it'd be cool if you just took one of the cans with you when your mom drove you back home. The flowers and bushes in many people's lawns suffered. No worries—you now have the Motorola SX900R Rechargeable 2-Way Radio. The SX900R Rechargeable 2-Way Radio keeps you in touch with your buddy over 18 miles of mountain terrain. Eleven NOAA weather channels with alerts let you keep an ear on the weather, while iVOX hands-free communication makes it easy to chat. Twenty-two FRS and GMRS channels and 121 privacy codes help keep your conversation private. The SX900R Radio has a mini-USB port so you can use your standard USB cable and the included two-port desktop charger to re-juice.

Bottom Line: Private conversations with your buddy and NOAA weather alerts, all without strangling the flora and fauna between the two of you.

A Must Have

These are easy to use and rugged. I bought cheaper radios and quickly found out why they are cheaper. When your life depends on communication, do not settle for cheaper versions. The are quick charging and the USB charge feature is fantastic.

Besides remote camping, I also use these radios in my business to communicate with employees when we work in large areas. So, if they can withstand the abuse from use in my line of work, they will last anywhere.
