Motorola SX600R Rechargeable 2-Way Radio - 2008
Two tin cans connected by a string isn't an effective way to keep in touch with your buddy on the ski hill or on the trail. Think of all the people you might strangle, besides the fact that you wouldn't be able to hear anything. Go with the Motorola SX600R Rechargeable 2-Way Radio instead. These radios work over a 14-mile range. The combination of 22 channels and 121 privacy codes makes sure that the other radio users on the mountain won't ruin your I-know-the-perfect-spot-for-lunch plans. The SX600R Rechargeable 2-Way Radio's iVOX hands-free communication makes it easy to keep in touch, while the backlit display and battery meter tell you when a recharge is in order. Charge this radio using its mini-USB port, a standard USB cable, and the included charging base.
Bottom Line: Safe for you, your buddy, and all the people in between.
Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.

Great basic little radios. Works just as they're designed to... good battery life, not too heavy or bulky.
