Montrail Ilikai Sandal - Women's - 2008

Throw the Montrail Women's Ilikai Sandals in the oven at 225 Fahrenheit for three minutes, take the sandals out, slip them on your feet, stand around for two minutes, and voila—custom-molded flip-flops. The Montrail sandal's arch support and a secure heel and mid-foot fit feels good after a long run or hike. The leather and synthetic tiled strap flexes and reduces rubbing, while the Ilikai Sandal's grippy rubber outsole won't let you down on wet grass.

Bottom Line: Refuel your body with food and your feet with the Ilikai Sandals.

Fantastic flip-flops

By:

I was looking for a pair of flip-flops that offered support, had traction like a tennis shoe, and didn't cost $80+. I had never heard of this brand, but I was intrigued by the concept of baking your shoes, so I thought I would give them a try.

They offer good arch support straight out of the box, but following the instructions for heating the shoes and wearing them for about five minutes will give you a custom fit. They have great traction and, unlike many of the sporty flips I've tried on before, the straps aren't so very tight that they're uncomfortable to wear. What's not to like about that?

I have a feeling that most of my flips will be forgotten this summer, in favor of wearing these all the time!

I'm really buying these for the arch support but I am wondering

I'm really buying these for the arch support but I am wondering how they run--big or small. If I'm a 7.5 do I go up or down a size b/c I want the arch of the sandal to hit my arch correctly. Thanks!

I would say go up since montrails are generally a bit small and narrow.

I bought these hoping for a womens shoe with arch support and found after I heated them like the directions said and wore them to mold they feel great! I would like a little more support but for a sandal they are great!
