MontBell Ultralight Wind Pants - Men's - 2008

The Mont-Bell Men's Ultralight Wind Pants could make living in a wind tunnel enjoyable. These 2.4-ounce wind pants repel water so ocean gales don't soak you to the bone. The Ultralight Wind Pants feature ballistic Airlight material, which weighs less than half of normal nylon, but offers equal strength in a 2.4-ounce package. Polkatex DWR adds an elite water-repellent technology that protects from light moisture and helps maintain warmth. Mont-Bell Ultralight Wind Pants can't lose.

Bottom Line: Strong enough for a windsock, and so light you'll think they evaporated.

Well obviously backcountry.com can't always have the lowest prices around, but that extra gets you one of the best return policies and the best customer service on the internet. Also, I agree with Angus.

Terrific back-up clothes

The most striking thing about these things is that they're so absurdly light. But, next is the fact that they're a really useful garment. They fit loose enough that you're not encased in plastic, but stop the wind so they're quire warm. I'm bringing them on bike tours to cover the evening/morning chills with virtually no weight penalty in my pack.
