MontBell made its insulated Women's Ultralight Thermawrap Action Jacket for alpine climbing, ski touring, and other backcountry endeavors. This jacket weighs a mere 8.9 ounces—barely enough to notice it in your pack. Yet its synthetic insulation rivals the warmth of down and, unlike down, this insulation will continue to keep you warm when it's wet. This jacket's DWR-treated outer shell is both durable and lightweight, and it has stretchy side panels so you won't feel constricted as you go at a frozen wall with your ice axe. This trim jacket layers easily. A microfleece-lined collar feels nice against your skin and prevents chafing.

Great versatile jacket!!

This is a great jacket for just about any activity. It's great for cold commutes on the bike, or layering up on the mountain. Oh and the thumbies (holes for thumbs) are just wonderful! The stretch on the sides keeps the fit comfortable and low profile so you don't feel like a marshmallow. It's not super insulating like a down jacket, it's perfect for what it is, an active jacket.
