MontBell Super Stretch Burrow #4 Sleeping Bag: 35 Degree Synthetic

For wet-weather backpacking and epic road trips, the Montbell Super Stretch Burrow #4 Sleeping Bag gives you compressible comfort that insulates even when wet. This 35-degree synthetic bag packs down small in your pack or duffel bag, and MontBell’s Super Stretch system features integrated elastic stitching, which lets you move around during the night and holds the insulation close to your body. A side draft collar blocks chilly air, and adjustment drawstrings at the feet and neck let you customize your night’s sleep.

Bottom Line: Burrow down in stretchy comfort.

I'll be making a trip out to Glacier National Park next July/August

I'll be making a trip out to Glacier National Park next July/August for a week or two. I've borrowed my friends MontBell bag before and loved it and want to get my own. Never been to Glacier though; will this bag be warm enough?

Glacier in July/August is plenty warm. Mid August can take a light fleece or warm base layer generally. Depending on where you camp there can be small microclimates in valleys, high meadows or areas near lakes but you should be just fine assuming no freak weather. If you do get some colder weather just sleep with your socks on.

Depends on where in Glacier, but I went there in August 2007 for a week long backpacking trip and I had a 20 degree bag. I was very happy with this temperature rating because it did get pretty cold at night (easily in the 30s). I never got cold at night with a 20 degree, but I think I would have been pushing it with a 30 degree. Some campsites were colder than others. Personally, I'd be hesitant on getting a 35 degree bag. I've seen websites that say the average low is 45 degrees in July and August, but that's for West Glacier. When you get more into the mountains (granted it's not the highest elevation in comparison to other parks in the US), you can get some cold spots.

Speaking from personal experience, I'd be safe and fork over the extra $ and extra weight and get a 25 degree bag.

best bag ive used

I absolutely love this bag. it is the softest most comfy sleeping bag I have ever used. it packs very small and the stretch feature is remarkable. it allows you to move around a lot more in the bag without feeling like youre trapped. If you are a rowdy sleeper and toss and turn this bag is for you. it is also great for hammocks. the bottom of the bag has a drawstring so you can keep your fet extra toasty or shorten the length of the bag. I have not had to deal with any wet conditions in the bag so I cannot say how well it keeps its heat when it gets damp. I would recommend this bag over comparable northface bags because the material is sooo soft.

This bag is much roomier than most bags due to the stretch feature. it also zips up from the bottom in case you wanna hang a leg out of it.

MontBell Super Stretch Burrow #4 Sleeping Bag - 35 Degree Synthetic - great bag!

The MontBell Super Stretch Burrow #4 Sleeping Bag - 35 Degree Synthetic is a great sleeping bag. The stretch will eliminate those air pockets that keep you cold at night and makes shifting less of an issue. I highly recommend this bag.
