The zipper goes down to approximately ten inches from the bottom of the bag. This bottom section does unzip for ventilation.

stretchy, soft, and pretty packable. sitting up cross-legged at night or in the morning is really nice, as is being able to move one knee and leg without moving the other. draft collar and hood is very soft and well-made. I'm 5'11 and got the long, but probably could've used the regular just fine. no complaints at all about this product.
