MontBell Alpine Light Down Jacket - Women's

You'll see the Montbell Women's Alpine Light Down Jacket on some of the world's most hard-core ultralight backpackers, climbers, and backcountry skiers, and on locals at the pub. That's because this Montbell down jacket's simple design, quality craftsmanship, and technical materials lend themselves to almost any activity. A super light ballistic nylon shell and single quilt construction hold the Alpine Light 800-fill down in place, while a DWR finish protects it from getting wet. Montbell lined the collar with micro-fleece for comfort and gave this premium ultra-light down jacket light, simple elastic cuffs to seal out drafts. At just 9.6oz, you'll find yourself throwing this down jacket in your pack for nearly any alpine adventure and wearing it out on the town when you return to civilization.

Bottom Line: Thoughtful design, quality materials, and a minimalist philosophy come together to create the Montbell Alpine Light Down Jacket.

Awesome Jacket

By:
February 20, 2008

I already love this jacket. I received it on Friday and ended up needing it on Saturday. I was doing a 7.5 mile snowshoe hike to scout out the route to a yurt I'm going to soon. I took the jacket along for the heck of it. The hike took longer than expected and when the sun dropped below the ridge, I immediately started getting REALLY cold. I threw on this jacket and a second hat and kept going. The jacket warmed me up quickly, is super lightweight and thin for layering, and comes with a stuff sack for easy packing & compression. After the hike, I wore the jacket into the restaurant and blended right in, i.e., didn't look like I was in "snowshoe gear". Thanks MontBell!

great jacket- Deb

I was tired of heavy bulky winter coats when I traveled somewhere it might be cold. This jacket is so thin and so warm and stuffs so small you can hardly believe it. I walked in a rain storm and shook it off and it stayed dry. I like it so much I ordered my husband the guys version of it. My advice buy it!

A must have

This is a great jacket. In fact I had to buy one for my daughter because she took mine over. Nice light weight warmth. Great for a layer, or when its not quite cold enough for a heavier jacket.

My "Go To" Jacket

By: Backcountry.com Alumni

In the 2 months I've had this jacket I've worn it practically every day. It has a huge temperature range - I can wear it when it's 20 degrees or 50 degrees and it works. I use it for snowshoeing when it's really cold but mostly it's my walk my dog, go out to dinner, shovel snow, throw in the backpack for when the sun goes down, etc.

Super lightweight, warm, comfortable, just wish that the pockets zipped.
