Millet Belay Device Jacket - Men's

Millet built the Men’s Belay Device Jacket for the devoted belay slave looking to stay warm while his partner flails all over his project. This lightweight puffy features a pass-through hand pocket that gives you direct access to your harness and belay device for feeding rope in frigid conditions. An adjustable hood and drawcord hem help you hunker down, and the dual-zip front zipper lets you keep your device outside the jacket for active ice and mixed climbing. Millet stuffed this jacket’s lightweight Pertex shell with fluffy PrimaLoft Sport insulation to warm your stationary body and included a compression stuff sack for easy packing when it’s finally your turn to climb.

  • NOTE to US Customers: Our Millet garments display the European size on the label. When ordering, please select your normal US size from the drop-down menu. Please view the sizing chart if you have questions.

Bottom Line: Belay from the toasty confines of this puffy jacket.

Good quality jacket

By:

This is a good quality jacket and fits well. It is an XL and I am 6'0 and weight 230 pounds and it fits perfect! The only minor drawback is the zipper. Since it is a European made jacket, The zipper is on the left instead of the right, making it a little awkward to try and zip if you are use to the zipper being on the right. Kind of like trying to write with your left hand if you are right handed. The hood may be too small for anyone who wants to wear a mountain climbing helmet. Other than that, it is a very good quality jacket.

So if I order a US Lrg jacket that shows up will say XL because it is euro size? Will the XL fit the same way as a LRg US size? I probably will not be doing thick layering either. I am 5'10" and 175lbs.

Haven not tried this in really cold weather .... yet.... but will update review as soon as i do
construction pays attention to details, outside shell its light so it might not be the best for hard falls on snow
The material is great, soft to touch, light, warm, compressible and comes with a stuff sack, i'm so happy i gave a try to this jacket as i was not going to buy it but decided to give it a try (i got the yellow one) so if you are looking for a light jacket, with good quality construction, not puffy, warm and extremely good looking ... look no further... give this a try :)

Actually, my boyfriend wears his with a Black Diamond Half Dome helmet and it fits just fine. Please do not be deterred from the comment from the Backcountry guru, unless Steve can let us know what helmet does not fit.

It is a pretty small hood, unless its a smaller helmet, I don't think it will fit well.

Yes, a US men's size small is equal to a European men's medium.

Using the drop-down box, you would select your US size, but when you get the item the tag will state one size larger.
