The Metolius Safe Tech Harness Package will save you lots of money. New to climbing? This is a great starter set and awesome value for a harness, belay/rappel device, AND belay carabiner. METOLIUS SAFE TECH ALL-AROUND HARNESS: One of the best fitting, safest harnesses in the world. Ergonomically shaped components give great freedom of movement for men and women. Metolius' sophisticated adjustment system lets you fine tune the fit by simply adjusting the riser length—the distance between the waist belt and leg loops. This harness also boasts the world's toughest and longest wearing tie-in points. Every component including the leg risers, gear, haul, and belay loops are engineered to withstand a load of at least 2250 lbf (10kN)—that's FULL strength and typically the max impact force rating of a modern climbing rope. BRD (BELAY/RAPPEL DEVICE): A versatile, lightweight belay/rappel device with engineered rope slots that give the belayer added control by increasing friction on the rope. The BRD is single or double rope compatible. Comes in assorted colors; we'll surprise ya. BELAY CARABINER: A compact, lightweight locker with a broad pear shape and large gate for easy use.

I recently bought a Safe Tech Harness, and I am very pleased indeed. It's the best harness that I've used thus far. Very secure, safe, and adjusts like a dream. Perfect for beginners because of the instructions and quality of the product.

Great starter package!

Best deal for the $$. This harness is loaded with features, comfort, and safety. Try one on and feel the difference! It's a great starter harness that will grow with you as your climbing ability increases. The only down side to the deal...no chalk bag. The harness itself is comparable to other harness costing upwards of $100, without the package deal. I like mine so much I went back and bought one for the wife and daughter as well.
