Metolius Rope Ranger Bag - 1368cu in

Wrangle that rascally rope with the help of the Metolius Rope Ranger Bag. This bag features a huge fold out tarp that protects your cord from core-chewing dirt and grime while giving you a clean spot to belay from. A durable plastic window ensures you grab the right rope on your next trip, and a drawcord and two compression straps cinch the rope down to fit in your pack. The Rope Ranger accommodates both 60- and 70-meter ropes, and the dual padded shoulder straps allow for backpack style carrying when you’re rolling light.

Bottom Line: Protect your life line.

Makes life easier..

Got the rope bag after climbing with a friend that had this. Its so convenient keeping the rope on the tarp and then just stowing it away wrapped up into the bag. Fits my 60 m rope perfectly. Way more efficient than carrying a bulky tarp or just slinging the rope on your shoulders. Good investment!

Slickist thing since snot

This bag is great! The two shoulder straps make it super easy to carry to and from the crag. The two compression straps and drawcord make it easy to jam in all my extra tidbits, I can fit my harness and a good sized sport rack; plus chalk bag, lotion, hand sanitizer, band-aids, sun screen and tape. Granted I bought a little eagle creek travel organizer to hold the last several items, but they all fit. But the best part of this bag is the rope tarp it's self! The two end tie off and roll up tarp make putting my rope away the easiest part of cleaning up! I truly love this bag.

Two shoulder straps = two thumbs up

It seems like everybody had the old Metolius rope bag - the one with the single strap. And that was really the biggest problem. "I got the rack, you get the rope" used to be my favorite thing to say, because the rack, no matter how big, was in my nice comfy backpack, while the other chump was stuck carrying the rope awkwardly over the shoulder, swinging it around on scrambles, and having a sore back by the time we got to the crag. Well, this bag changes all this, and there's no going back. They added a second strap, so now it can be easily worn as a backpack. As far as durability, this bag is just as bomber as its predecessor. It also now has a rubber-coated grab-handle that's centered at the top end, and I'm surprised by how often I use it to handle the rope while packing, handling gear, or rearranging the car. A great ropebag that will outlast many a rope, and If you see it on SAC - it's a no-brainer!

Metolius Rope Ranger Bag - 1368cu in

This bag rocks. I put my Beal Edlinger 10.2 in it and fits great. The shoulder straps that make it a backpack are a must have. The 4x5 tarp is plenty big for a 60m as well as a 70m rope with plenty of space to get your rock shoe on with out getting dirty. A must have for any rope.
