The Metolius Rope Ranger Bag includes double backpack-style shoulder straps, end carry handles, a stash pocket, and a 4 x 5-foot tarp to make your time at the crag easy as possible. This flagship rope bag from Metolius holds a 70m rope with ease and can also carry your harness and draws if you use a shorter cord.
Bottom Line: Looking for a plush rope bag to keep your line clean and untangled? Check out the Metolius Rope Ranger Bag.
I love this bag. Awesome for sport climbing, the tarp is nice and big. You can throw out the tarp, put your shoes on, tie in and go without having to flake the rope every time. I also like the shoulder straps. Not the most comfortable, but, between you and your partner; one can carry a pack with gear/lunch and safety, the other can sling on this rope bag. There's room for a 60 M + Harness & Shoes. Solid purchase-
This bag is great! The two shoulder straps make it super easy to carry to and from the crag. The two compression straps and drawcord make it easy to jam in all my extra tidbits, I can fit my harness and a good sized sport rack; plus chalk bag, lotion, hand sanitizer, band-aids, sun screen and tape. Granted I bought a little eagle creek travel organizer to hold the last several items, but they all fit. The best part of this bag is the rope tarp it's self! The two end tie off and roll up tarp make putting my rope away the easiest part of cleaning up! I truly love this bag.
I like the size of this bag because I can carry a rope, some webbing, and my harness and shoes. I wear it as a backpack and have my partner carry the pro and food. I wouldn't recommend buying this if you're going to put it inside your backpack a lot, takes up most of the space in my 40L rolltop.
Well, its a rope bag. I can fit my 60m 10.5mm rope as well as 20m of webbing. You could fit a few more items in there such as a set of quick draws or a top-rope rigging...but not much else. I use this bag for my rope and webbing and carry a separate pack for the rest of the gear. The straps are comfortable and convenient. The material/build is tough and inspires confidence. I find myself lobbing it over steap descents without hesitation.
This bag pwns every other Rope bag that I have ever seen. Best Features: 2 straps Make all the difference in the world when you have to do anything but step out of your car and be at the crag (Unless you hate your self buy a bag with more than just a duffel bag style), and A Huge tarp that doesn't ever get in the way, . There is tons of room in this bag for allmost everything you could want to bring with you. ~~~~~~~A word of advice~~~~~~~~i kept the cardboard that came with the bag to roll up at the very end so no matter what i pack there is a flat surface against my back.
I bought this for my husband and he loves it! Great for its purpose.... and so cool to be able to carry it like a backpack! Can fit rope, harness and shoes into it with a little squeeze.
This bag has features that makes sense. there is a huge tarp, a draw string instead of zipper, tons of extra space to through in your extra gear, and backpack straps that make approaches nice. i just wish that the draw sting was a little sturdier, but you can't have everything.
This is a pretty great bag - it has a huge tarp and capacity. The backpack feature is great for walking between climbs. I just wish that the draw string was a little easier to cinch down.
