Metolius Half Dome Haul Bag - 7600cu in

Want one haul bag that will last your entire big wall career? You should try the Metolius Durathane Half Dome Haul Bag. This medium size haul bag is ideal for smaller walls or a second bag for huge hauls. The Durathane material is much more abrasion resistant than vinyl-coated nylon found on most other bags. RF welded seams and a comfortable suspension system that tucks away in seconds gives this pig a nice clean profile for hauling. It won't snag on every flake it comes across. The river-bag style closure will keep the weather out of the inside where you'll find gear loops and a zippered pocket for smaller items. On the bottom is a drain hole for any spilled water and a full strength haul point for bringing along other piglets.

Metolius Haul Bag

With years of building haul bags under their belts Metolius should have it down, and they do! This bag is so bomb proof, I think Osama Bin Ladin is hiding inside. Buy this if you want a bag that is a good meduim size, and will never let you down. Quick tip - duct tape all the fabric round the bottom and top rims, the tape will take the abuse of being dragged up a wall, allowing your bag many more years of use.

This bag is great. After two shorter walls (2 and 3 days) it has shown a little wear on the nylon straps and hauling points but that is to be expected with any bag. The durathane is SO SOLID. It'll scratch but you'll be hard pressed to puncture or tear it. It's plenty roomy, has nice little extras like the zipper pouch, gear loops on the inside, and the drain hole in the bottom which make life so much easier on the wall. Excellent bag.
