Great, just don't overload

These make fantastic craggin' packs. Indestructible and pretty much waterproof, they stand up to a lot abuse. And they carry surprisingly well, but only up to a point. With a big rack, a rope and too much water my shoulders start to complain and the hip belt won't take much weight off. That is my only complaint. Just keep the size of your load in check and this pack will work great. Overload and you'll be hurting. If you tend to carry a lot, I'd get the smallest haul bag instead.

Metolius Haul bags are the best your $$ can buy. Having been an avid fan for years the natural next step was the haul "pack". This thing makes an burly pack for cragging, lasting a generation. My only complaints are that 1) it lacks a sternum strap and 2) I wish it were a hair larger. Having said that, I still thing this fits the bill for cragging with anything but a wall rack. OR, use it as a smaller bag on your next BigWall

I bought this bag to use as a sub-bag on a wall. It worked great for that, we put the day's food, water, and extra clothes in this thing, and that way we never had to get into the big pig except at bivys. It's great not having to dig to the bottom of a giant bag just to find a water bottle.

After I got home, this bag became my main cragging pack. It's the perfect size for a rope or rack and all your personal gear, plus it's waterproof, and tough as hell. It can also double as a rope bucket in a pinch. I definitely recommend it.
